Simple room in a rural hotel in Capileira. The location is less than 5 minutes' walk from the bus stop, as well as restaurants and shops. The breakfast was excellent, the staff were helpful and the hotel has some nice facilities, such as garden, pool and bar.
This hotel is housed in a historical building surrounded by century-old gardens in Lanjarón. This pretty mountain town is famous across Spain for its hot springs.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this hotel, I am the kind of the person that don’t like to leave bad reviews but I have no option at all :/
The hotel is very noise, they had a party very loud till midnight and the hotel allow dogs so one of the guest left the dog in the room by itself and the dog barked till the end of the party, I guess the dog was frightened by all the noise from the party? Anyway, the owner shouldn’t let the dog by itself in the room!
Breakfast was a mess and a joke at the same time :( you choose a main course ( eggs) + bread+ coffee + a small yogurt and that’s all , I couldn’t believe when I saw it , apart from that it took 45 minutes to come to the table because they have too many people as the breakfast starts at 8:15 am ( very late) … so everyone went at the same time , some people didn’t have table to sit and had to wait stand , even a pregnant woman, I feel sorry for her and tried to eat as fast as I could to give my table to her :/
Staff from the dinner room work very hard , the problem is they need to hire more people when the hotel is full , I feel sorry to the staff because some people were very angry complaining to them , I was angry too but I kept sitting there for 45 minutes till someone comes to our table with our poor breakfast!
Also the hotel doesn’t look like as in the picture, I had no Mountain View and the swimming pool was full of mold or whatever you can call when it looks green …
I was in a road trip in Spain and been in different hotels that one was the worse, I also have been travelling around the world for many years and I don’t even remember the last time that I stayed in a hotel with such bad breakfast , I always read the reviews and I didn’t get anyone mentioning it and even about noise , so I was really disappointed by !
Also I am a blogger so they missed the opportunity of me recommending the hotel on my article :/
Located in Capileira, Hostal Rural Poqueira offers great views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Poqueira Gorge. There is a garden with an outdoor pool and a charming summer terrace.

I really likes the central location of Hostal Rural. It was a pleasant stay.
A place to avoid. Not much charm and way too many British hippies, who instead of adding to a unique and interesting vibe, seem to fuel a proliferation of expensive touristy and inauthentic restaurant experiences.

A very interesting town in the Alpujarras, a mixture of people, from local camposinos and Alpujarranians to alternative types, hippies, punks, writers, musicians, artists, spiritual and new age folks. The scenery is amazing, walking and horse riding/trekking is recommended, as is mountain biking for the fitter and more adventurous! Thursday market is worth visiting, all sorts of stuff for sale. 20-30 minutes from the coast and an hour from Granada by car. Not as busy and party central as it was 10-15 years ago, but still great. Also, some great local food and drink, tapa is free so you can happily drink and munch through the day! Apparently the last stronghold of the Anarchists during the Civil War in Andalucia, still has that unconventional vibe about it, well worth at least 2 or 3 days to visit.

Peter,thank you very much,
muchas gracias y hasta luego
The location is perfect, surrounded by magnificent views, ancient olive trees, nature!
The food and service in restaurant are exceptional, large portions of fresh and scrumptious, hearty food. Honestly I can't recommend enough. Staff are lovely! Speak variety of European languages, the facilities clean. We stayed in a wooden bungalow which was perfect. We had our own bbq and terrace, 2 bedrooms and kitchen.
The site is situated fairly low in the Alpujarra, so for those in tents, is warmer and comfortable. Orgiva Camping, thank you!
Our hostess Noelia was exceptional in her communication at all times with us especially as we were travelling by bus to Orgiva. The location was easy to find from Noelia's directions and the guest house was charming set in easy reach of restaurants, bars and the main square of Orgiva. Both rooms had ample facilities -even having kettles( so rare in hotel rooms in Spain) and fridges(which we didn't use) and sofas where we could relax after our journey. Noelia was extremely helpful in her advice and care for us on our final day.
Beautiful traditional house with three floors and a roof terrace situated in the centre of
Orgiva. You can reach the market within five minutes and buy locally produced vegetables to cook your own meal at home ( the kitchen is well equipped and lacks nothing) or have a meal outside also in walking distance. One can always reach Mark the owner and he is very helpful with imformation regarding not only the house but also including walking tours.- absolutely recommendable!
Little oasis on outskirts of Orgiva, lovely pool, quiet location, lovely breakfast. Great location for exploring mountains!
Had the room with balcony, light bright & spacious.
Balcony lovely though could do with a bit of a clean & some better furniture to fully appreciate the wonderful space & views across to the mountains - cushions for chairs (third chair broken) would be a good start! Couple of sunloungers would be even better!!
Simple unfussy unpretentious house and ambience, with enough garden space not to feel crowded by other guests. Attractive location, close to edge of Orgiva but also close to open countryside, walks, wildlife etc. Having the pool available in April was excellent. Very helpful to be able to bring a dog. Friendly helpful host who left us to ourselves but was generally available when we needed.
The hotel was in an amazing location, had a spectacular view of the valley and mountains and was a wonderful place to stay. The owners were absolutely the friendliest and we felt just like family. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The entire hotel was very neat and clean
The house is very welcoming. Tastefully furnished, fully equiped and feels just like a home. It’s clean. We have had different experiences in and around Orgiva. The hosts are the nicest people ever. They really do everything to make you feel welcome. We loves it and we’ll return!
Beautiful well equipped house. Everything you need to have a wonderful holiday. The pool area was lovely and so clean
The owners lived next door and were so helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back. It's about 10 minutes drive from centre of Orgiva.
this hotel was perfect and exceeded all expectations! Orgiva isn’t very exciting but this hotel made up for it. The owners are so sweet, the breakfast was great, everything was so clean and the hotel itself was gorgeous! don’t bother staying somewhere else!
Lovely hotel with a peaceful ambience.
Rooms were spacious enough.
Decent breakfast 5/10 - typically Spanish cheese, eggs and olives.
There is a park 2 mins away which is good for the kids.
There are some free parking spots near the hotel.
A nice spread out hotel with a marvelous garden, good size room, nice breakfast buffet, and very helpful staff. The garden is the highlight, with fruit and nut trees, songbirds, plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view of the Lujár mountains.
The rooms are comfortable, clean, quiet for a good night's sleep. The hotel restaurant is excellent -- freshly prepared food with lots of variety in the menu of traditional Spanish and regional dishes, including great seafood. Very nice stay.
We used to lived in Orgiva so it was great to be back. The hotel is great. Lots of restaurants in town were closed when we were there so we ate in the restaurant alot and bumped into lots of old friends.
fantastic location with beautiful views of Orgiva and the mountains. exceptionally clean and fantastic roof terrace. The owner was friendly, accommodating and excellent communication throughout.
Quaint property in the heart of Órgiva. Our room was in the "old" part of the building--300y old! Ibrahim was accommodating in our arrival and departure needs. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Location Orgiva is a lovely place with great bars and restaurants. The generosity of the owner who supplied us with plenty of cheese and ham. He couldn't do enough for us.
It was wonderful there. Best hotel I have ever been to. The owners are so nice. A big garden with orange trees. There was some fireworks but not too much.
