A really interesting area that was unexpectedly busy.

A really interesting area that was unexpectedly busy. This is a really popular spot for mainly Spanish tourism as far as I could tell. The monastery was fantastic as were the lakes that really are worth the 9 euro bus ride to get to (the only way up aside from walking or cycling).

A cute tiny city with amazing views. 15-20 mins by bus to the famous Lagos de Covadonga (lakes). I recommend taking bus as the roads are narrow and might be difficult to drive. There are restaurants, hotels and free parking. Ideal for those who want to visit Lagos de Covadonga. Also, there is a breathtaking church in the mountains.

We didn't spend much time in the city and went straight to the lakes. make sure to have at least 2 hours there!!! such an amazing view! the lakes themselves, the mountains and the animals (cows and sheep) walking around is just breathtaking. Keep in mind that in peak seasons cars are not allowed to go up to the lakes, and honestly the trip is a bit scary, so you can take the bus or take a taxi with a few people. but take in mind that the taxis only stay there for about 45 minutes and then take you back down, which is just not enough time.

Unfortunately visited at a very busy time-major religious festival as well as still apparently school holidays. The lakes are lovely,as is the surrounding scenery. The buses were good and frequent. The area closest to the buses were quite busy but we were able to walk properly away from crowds.

The rural house was extraordinary. We were enjoying every bit of it. First of all, it was in a very good location, 7-10 minutes away by walking to Covadonga. The room was clean and had all the facilities which we were expecting for. Furthermore, the staff was very nice and helpful. As well it was quiet, had a good and peaceful rest. Last but not least breakfast - was not anything special, however, like most of the rural houses, we had different options to choose from it was simple but tasty.

This is a small rural hotel right across from the Covadonga Sanctuaria. As is typical with small locally-owned hotels, the room is small and simple. The setting is delightful and convenient to the National Park and Congas de Onis (lovely town with some good restaurants). Those who complain about the humidity at the hotel need to understand - it rains a lot here and it’s humid! You can tell from the abundance of ferns and moss! We loved the hospitality, breakfast, and the peace and quiet.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for my trip going to visit Lagos de Covadonga. The deco on the hallway gave a sense of nostalgia, brought back fond memory of my visit to south America. If I have to "complain", it might be the lack of elevator, but, in fact, it is not really an issue because an elevator might have spoiled the elegant atmosphere. Meanwhile, the lady at the front desk was kind enough to help us to bring one luggage to the room.

Very friendly staff, amazing location (15 mins by bus to Covadonga lakes), the bus stop is near the hotel. Tasty food in the restaurant (I fell in love with the bread) and huge portions. Very quiet (it’s near the road but at night there is no noise). Amazing view from the room. Breakfast was nice as well, a lot of sweets to choose. The first night was a bit cold and the manager turned on heating especially for us. We didn’t want to leave as we felt like at home :-).

It's a small boutique hotel situated at the foot of a trail leading up to the monastery. Very quaint and quiet with a nice yard outside and a view of the monastery. If you want to get away from the crowds then this is the place. The bed is comfortable and the room size was good for 2 people. We had room 2 which had a nice view of the monastery. Body wash and soap is available Jorge was friendly enough and check in went smoothly.

Very helpful manager who ensured we could park, made the room available early and recommended restaurants and advised us to visit the lakes immediately due to the developing poor weather. Nice room, good standard with comfy bed. Excellent breakfast with lots of variety. Hotel is located very conveniently for bus to top of the Picos for the Lake walk etc.

Such nice, old-fashioned elegant hotel. Modern comfort and located just at the main site of the sanctuary and grotto of the Virgin. Typical, all-inclusive menu available (20€ in my stay) or a la carte. Very enjoyable, relaxing place. Free parking available on site.

We loved everything - the location, the staff, the simple decor of the spotlessly clean rooms.. The hotel is next to a stream so you are lulled to sleep by the sound of water rushing down, and the birdsong wakes you up… I want to be back already!
