We went to the Blues festival held every July in the old...
We went to the Blues festival held every July in the old bull ring up in the chestnut woods above Bejar so were just wanting a room to sleep. Bejar itself, interesting old town once centre of a thriving wool and cloth trade but feeling in decline now with closed shops. But still attractive old quarter along the Main Street linking several plazas. The main square st the bottom has the theatre, and cámara oscura which is worth a visit. As well as the route of the mill industry, sculpture museum, Jewish quarter. The surrounding country side is very pretty for walking, cycling. Visit particularly Candelario traditional centre of artisan sausages etc with streams channels down the streets and large traditional alpine houses, and Baños de Mibtenayor, spa town.SianSpain - 10Scored 10
Bejar is an underrated town from the international tourist...
Bejar is an underrated town from the international tourist point of view. It's real advantage in charm is that it is almost completely unspoilt by tourism and well worth a visit as it is a well-preserved and photogenic town. It is a medieval fortified town standing on a plateau above ravine. The scenery is great on a clear day. The Sierra Del Bejar is good for walking and exploring.

The kids loved the room, they had their beds on the mezzanine with their own tv, very comfortable beds. The room was large and warm and cosy and had heated flooring which is great for kids (and adults). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant downstairs was good and very nice staff. Strongly recommend this hotel.
