The town centre is nothing special, a typical shopping experience in an industrial city. However, find your way to the magical old town and you are transported back in time to beautifully preserved buildings and streets. I imagine that the tiny cafes and tea rooms open in the daytime create a relaxing and civilised atmosphere to compliment the architecture.

Great German style breakfast including boiled eggs and fresh rolls and meats and cheeses. The bar was a fun place to hang out in after we returned to the hotel. All staff was very friendly!!

But what a find. The town was delightful and Ruhr Inn was only an easy 10 minute walk away so we were able to wander the village for an hour and a half often dinner in the evening. Beautiful.
