This is a place for all seasons.
This is a place for all seasons. The city is hospitable, multicultural and pedestrian friendly. It’s also very dog friendly. I noticed that dogs are allowed in the shopping malls and I saw dogs allowed in almost every shop including department stores.

I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city.
I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city. I went to see the opening night of the opera house's production of Wagner's opera "The Flying Dutchman". The musical and dramatic standard was very high, and it was a most memorable cultural experience. It is not just a beautiful opera house, it offers many fine productions year round. The city is only about 10 minutes from Dusseldorf airport, so easy to get to.
Apart from the Opera House (Theater Duisburg) I can't think of any other reason I would want to visit Duisburg. Pity that Booking.com does not list the opera house as the major cultural venue worth commenting on.

The harbours are awesome.
The harbours are awesome. I have never seen so many ships, cranes , containers in an inland harbour . Really good cycling paths, easy access to the Rhine and Ruhr. Good restaurants. I recommend Mykonos in Meiderich. Very friendly people. Some parts are in need of modernisation. Public transport very good.

What a horrible city!
What a horrible city! I’ve travelled all over Germany, visited at least 50 towns and cities, but I hadn’t been to Duisburg yet, so I figured I’d give it a go. Don’t bother! Apparently it’s one of the poorest cities in Germany and it shows. What a dilapidated, sad city. Even in the city centre there’s buildings that are falling apart, so many empty and abandoned storefronts. Inhabitants of the city appeared sad and bored as well, not exactly the friendliest folks in Germany. Not worth a visit, except for the amazing and free Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord. Definitely hit it up for a visit of an hour or two if you’re in the Ruhr area, it’s worth the drive or ride by public transit, but don’t bother with the rest of the city.
The property was perfectly located while visiting the Sportschule Wedau. Detailed instructions on arrival and the contact free check in were shared so it was very easy to get in. We were able to find free parking right at the front door and arrived to a beautifully clean apartment with all that we needed to feel at home.
The owner checked in with us to make sure all went smoothly along with a welcome. We very much enjoyed our stay and will plan on returning next time we visit Duisburg.
The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Duisburg. The station is down the street, Lehmbruck Museum is just around the corner. The room itself is totally fine, albeit with a number of minor issues. Check in was very easy (though be sure to write down your room number and code; mobile data can be an issue in Germany so looking it up on the spot is tricky).
Tried to cancel two weeks prior to arrival.
Hotel still wanted full payment. Of course according to the booking agreement, fair enough.
But I think they could have made some effort. I have stayed there several times before, I visit the region 2-3 times a year.
Although its a nice hotel, I will never book them again.
Nice and clean location near the highway to stop during a long trip across Germany. We could park our car for free in a fenced area near the hotel.
We had a superb wiener schnitzel in Webster Brauhaus, which is located a few hundreds meters from the hotel! Really worth the walk!
The room was quite big and clean, stuff was friendly. I was travelling for work near the hotel so for me the location was good. Just in walking distance there were shops and restaurants. Can't judge the breakfast nor the wifi because I didn't use either of it.
The rooms are very nicely decorated and are very new. I was received very kindly by the hotel staff. The room is equipped with a large smart TV and a comfortable bed. The bathroom looks perfect and I would recommend this accommodation to others.
Easy parking in front of the hotel. Check in was quick. Our family room was comfortable. Breakfast was good - made to order eggs and waffles. Friendly staff.
My boys both received an Easter bunny when checking out which was a nice surprise.
Good buffet breakfast, hotel lies in excellent location on the West Bank of the Rhine, we paid 5 euros extra for a river view and it was well worth it. Short walk over the bridge to the Binnenhafen and tram connections to central Duisburg.
The hotel was modern and clean. It looks quite new . The location is right next to the cruise ship port and Elat the beginning of the shopping area.
You get what you pay hotel
Excellent facility and super friendly staff. The hotel is also close to the shops and restaurants. A lot of halal options, bakeries and shopping within walking distance.
Very friendly staff in an extremely clean and cosy hotel. Good value for money, it's definitely worth staying in this hotel when in Duisburg, highly recommended.
