    A decent small town with basic activities, well suited for the more senior traveller not interested in night activities. Neat and well kept with some lovely scenery. The localls have limited to no understanding of english. Many nice small restaurants and cafés around the town square. Lovely old churches to see as well.

    Deggendorf is a small Bavarian town on the river Danube, about halfway between Regensdorf and Passau, along the highway. It has a small historical center with beautiful buildings, churches and some really charming squares. I did not know about this city, before we stopped here for one night while traveling through Germany, but I am very glad that we did. I think that it can be explored in about half a day, as it is not a big city, but it is very clean, charming and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. If you ever find yourself nearby, I recommend stopping here for a few hours to see at least the main square and church. There is a very good pizza and pasta restaurant by the riverside, where they serve the probably the largest pizza I ever received in a restaurant. I definitely recommed checking that out, the name of the place is Laurin.

    Deggendorf is located approximately half way between Passau...

    Deggendorf is located approximately half way between Passau and Regensburg and is somewhat of a gateway to the Bavarian Forest. It is a pleasant, well-presented town with easy public transport access, including a train to Plattling (on the main line between Regensburg and Passau). In itself it is not the most exciting place we have visited, but we chose it because of its central location between/access to the other 2 cities nearby.

    Fantastic Hotel, the bars and restaurants are good, people are friendly and helpful, lots to do in the day as well as the evening no matter what age group lively and real German atmosphere. Fantastic gentle walking areas along the river (all ended up in bars with a good time had for all)

    I enjoyed walking to the town center and sitting at the outdoor cafes. I enjoyed walking on the charming side streets which were full of Bavarian atmosphere. I enjoyed dining at two of the many restaurants.

    Deggendorf is a very small, not so exciting, town with a big enough choice of restaurants, some hotels and countless numbers of mosquitos. It's a convenient place to comfortably sleep off-motorway. It's not a holiday destination as such.

    This is an exceptional place! The room we had was spacious, stylish, very clean, with a free minibar, an impressive TV, and the most comfortable bed and pillows. In addition to that, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is dog-friendly, which is another big plus. And there are many small details like free drinks and snacks at the reception, a gym and even a sauna that you wouldnt expect at a hotel in this affordable price category. We absolutely loved our stay here and can't recommend it enough!

    The owner was a great guy. He is also a great cook. It's a 6 room cozy hotel, about 6 miles from the city center, There is a taxi service that will take you into town for 5 Euros, you might have to wait a bit, but it is a fun ride out in the countryside. The stay was like meeting an uncle you didn't know you had. Great and friendly staff!!

    It is a really cozy hotel in the heart of the city Deggendorf. The SPA and the wellness are really unique. You can enjoy the penthouse-style sky pool till 22.00 having a beautiful view of the top of the city including the view of the two towers of the nearby churches. Very polite and helpful staff.

    The hotel is excellent. The room was very good, the bed was super comfortable and the AC worked very well. The staff was very friendly, in particular the lady at the reception. Our request for a quiet room was very well accommodated. We will return to this wonderful hotel.

    Does what it says on the tin, its a well priced hotel with friendly staff. Decent rooms but you can tell there have been a few late night partues in the rooms. The location is great so easy to get to the centre of town for drinks and food.

    Had stayed here before under several different owners. This was one of the better ones. Convenient right off the motorway, but not loud. The new furniture is nicer. Positioned as an effective business hotel now.

    I always choose the Gasthof when in Deggendorf. great location , homely feel and good restaurant / bar . if anything the recent refurb has meant it’s lost a little ‘charm’ but still it’s a good hotel.
