The staff was great honestly. They helped a lot and were always there whenever we had questions or just wanted to ask about something's whereabout.

The hotel has a beautiful interior design, as befits a museum. It so happened that we stayed in three different rooms in the hotel during our stay. All rooms were clean, functional, and very nice. Sympathetic, polite and helpful staff who spoke English. We had no problem leaving our luggage for our one-day trip to Yangchuo. The location of the hotel is right next to the lakes and the park surrounding them. I highly recommend this hotel

We liked everything! The hotel is in an ancient village of Lujiacun, a bit far from the city centre but provides a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere for guests to relax in after a busy day of exploring. Starting from our arrival all the way to our reluctant departure, hotel staff treated us like VIPs. Maggie was waiting for us at the roadside, with umbrellas since it was drizzling a bit, and walked with us to the hotel. She helped carry our heavy backpacks up (no elevators) to our second floor room as well, which was much appreciated. A fruit platter and tea was served as a welcome treat. We enjoyed the various breakfast options offered, which was made fresh, every morning. Hai-Yan, the other lady whom we met as well, gave us pointers on sites to visit. She walked with us to the beginning of a walking trail to Reed Flute Caves to ensure that we embarked on the right trail for the walk. Everything we needed, they tried their best to help. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a very relaxing stay. It is very quiet at night, and close by is a restaurant where one can try local dishes. Also small street eateries are available around the village during the day. It is a bit far from the city center but a taxi ride will get you there in 15 minutes. Staff can arrange taxi or any excursion for their guests as well.

Boutique hotel with excellent hospitality. Clean and comfortable and location was good. Note that all rooms are Japanese tatami type and therefore low mattress on the raised floor. Unfortunately, my Dad had a knee problem so getting on and off the low bed was an issue for him. Otherwise, the hotel was very good with a local vibe. Get a higher floor room with a view. Worth it. Nothing to see on the lower levels.

Nice city to spend few days in.
Compare to Yangshuo and Xingping Gu Zhen, Guilin is much clamer, less commercial.

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer...
Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.
The location and the quality you get for this price is awesome. The view - amazing! (Don’t hesitate to ask the receptionist to give you a remote from the rooftop door, if it’s closed.)
I highly suggest you to add them on WeChat, as it’s easier to communicate with the front desk by chat. They also can provide you with some tips and suggestions on where you can go.
Overall, I will recommend this place to all my friends, when they visit Guilin.
Originally, I just wanted to find a hotel nearer to the airport. While this hotel is a bit out of the "main" city of Guilin, it surprised me! It's a great place to stay in Guilin. The room was spacious and clean (and great value, we paid more for a lot worse throughout our traveling!) and the gym and pool were also fantastic. It was quiet and our room also had a great view!
It was a charming hotel, with a great location.
Every morning, people danced on the street on the other side of the road, witch was a very pleasant way to start the day.
The room was very spacious, with a great bed, huge window and a stunning view.
Bruce Yi was very welcoming and Jenny (the sales manager) arranged us all the tours that we wanted to do. Very efficient.
It is located in a park, where various kinds of trees provide perfect shade for the walking path. One can have a great view of the famous scene "Elephant Trunk Hill" from the park's observation deck. The staff is extremely friendly and is always there for guests. The hotel provides drinking water and fruits to guests. I would highly recommend it to visitors to Guilin.
Staff is really friendly and they speak great english. They helped us with transportation, gave tips on things to see in Guilin, and Lucy made us nice breakfast with coffee. The hostel has a nice social vibe, and the reception doubles as a small bar with a good selection of craft beers and nice cocktails. Beds have curtains for when you need some privacy.
Location is quiet but within walking distance to the attractions and main streets. The hotel is tastefully decorated with beautiful furniture and artwork. They also helped us organize the driver and tours/Li River Cruise. Everything was top notch. I would strongly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a more relaxed experience in Guilin.
The hotel's location was spot on. Almost everything was far from 10 to 20 minutes, if you took a walk. The hostel was great and clean. Jerry was very helpful, he assissted in everything, from explaining in details how to get to the hotel to helping find a place to do test and showing some of the things to see around.
The staff’s hospitality is tops. They were very helpful in terms of giving information about the area and tours. They even packed our breakfast when we had to leave the hotel very early. Thank you! The room was cleaned daily and we could get free tea and water. The bed was comfortable and large enough for two people.
The property is well taken care of and a tasteful blend of rustic decor and modern amenities. It is also tucked away on a quiet side of the city. The owner is eager to help plan itineraries for Guilin’s many attractions, and the hotel’s Guilin Rice Noodles easily competes with the best in the city.
Luca really makes this place - he is incredibly helpful and suggested an itinerary that allowed me to see Yangshou and Xingpeng in a day given I had three days in Guilin and assisted with my bookings. The hostel also has a bar, which is ideal to meet other travellers. Happy I stayed here.
The receptionist was very nice! Generally a very friendly atmosphere. The location is close to the East railway station (high speed train, around 6min to walk)
The city centre of Guilin is farther away, but easily to reach with the bus (35min ride but busses go very frequently).
The hotel is really beautiful and perfectly located close to the parks and lakes. Breakfast room at the top of the building offers great views of the mountains and fancy sitting. The rooms are well equiped and offer cozy tea drinking corners. Staff is friendly.
Lovely room with a comfortable bed (I am used to very hard beds when travelling around Asia). Excellent location in the centre of Guilin, right next to a market street and lots of restaurants/shops. A free laundry room too!
This was a late night, last minute booking and the hotel delivered. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. Restaurants and the train station nearby (main train station, NOT west or North stations).
Very comfortable hotel and the lady at reception was so kind to book for us the cruise on the Li River with pick up at the hotel. Room very clean and spacious with lovely view of the river.
Very beautiful hotel, great decoration. The tram is amazing, very helpful and speak good English. They helped us organising our whole trip. The breakfast is simple but good.
