Kura met us at the airport on arrival with eis (flower garland) and was very friendly, before we arrived at the accommodation, she offered to take us to the shop, there was fruit and water waiting there for us, she was very accommodating, the shower has good pressure and the air-conditioning was welcomed after the day spent at the motu, I highly recommend her place, it felt like we were at home, we will definitely be back, thank you Kura

The property was right on the beach where we got to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Well thought out good large clean space that was well equipped. Kayaks on the property if you like that. Nikki was lovely picking us up from the airport taking us to our car rental place, showing us where petrol and food places were then dropping us back at the airport on the day we left. He organised our lagoon cruise for us with a local which was amazing. Nothing was too much bother for him. We stayed one night in the lodge one in the beachside cabin. We preferred the cabin as it had aircon and a hose outside to wash our feet.

Our booking was very last minute so we really appreciated the immediate response to our request. Airport pickup/drop off was so well received by us both. Took the stress off us to organize. We haven’t got enough good things to say about Aitutaki Budget accom, and Ned.
Everything from the central location, close to the beach and shops, scooters available at the property to hire, super fast internet, fresh fruit and filtered water in the kitchen…but the biggest bonus is Ned himself.
He’s just an all-round champion.
Ned’s lagoon tour is an absolute MUST. To start with, The tour group was small, so we didn’t have to waste time getting 30 people in and out of the boat… this means you’ve got more time to see more places. I won’t say all the things that we saw… certain fish and sea creatures aren’t always there all the time… but we saw everything we wanted to see. The coconut demo was also a real highlight!

What an amazing stay! The Bungalow is very clean, spacious, the most beautiful beach front location, private and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Our hosts Vaea and Kii went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. From changing our booking last minute due to our flights being delayed, picking us up at the airport, showing us around the island and their warmth and kindness. The highlight was our private lagoon tour with Kii - an action packed day on the water seeing all the best snorkelling spots, swimming with GTs and some of the prettiest islands around. We'll forever cherish our stay and count the days till we return.
Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property.

Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodation located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides.

We went on a lagoon cruise with Kia Orana Cruise and had a great time. We visited lots of the islands in the lagoon and also went snorkeling at two different sites. There are other cruise companies and some have much bigger boats and can take about 40 people. The cruise we chose had only 4 people on it so we could visit the tiny islands without the big crowds.
It is worth bearing in mind that this is a small island and everything must be imported from Rarotonga which in turns imports a lot from NZ. It's not extremely cheap but the views and the people make it all worth it.
Everything was perfect, from the welcoming, till the end. So superb friendly hosts, with a lot of attention to your needs and the best recommendations. Superb and spacious bungalow with beach view, for romantic breakfast or dinner with sunset. Great private tour around the lagoon. Available kayak for enjoying the lagoon in front of the bungalow. Don't go for any luxury hotel, just book Tai Marino.
We had a great time at Sunny Beach Lodge when we stayed there for 1 week in October. Centrally located on the island, close to Amuri town. Supermarket and drinking water station are across the road.
Niki is a fantastic host, doing his best to give his guests a wonderful stay. Sunny Beach Lodge felt like a warm community, we had so many lovely neighbours!
