Local amenities were the same as everywhere and convenient. The kids loved the pool at the hotel and the concierge was friendly to them in greetings. The local Station Restaurant & Pub was great at accommodating us when we were a large group at the last minute for lunch. Great food! Definitely would go back there for another meal. There were a couple other places in town, we didn’t have time for in our schedule but we will be back!

An up and coming communities with many services. Appears to be a family centred. Friendly locals! Great for a Calgary commuter :) The pool facilities are terrific and there are wonderful walking/running trails. Humpty's new menu is terrific - something for every taste. The King Palace Chinese Restaurant in the old Co-op downtown is amazing.

This place is very family friendly and lobby is inviting and attractive. There is a pool with decent sized slide and hot tub near pool was great feature. We thought the breakfast was excellent and hours of operation 7 am - 10 am was appreciated. Food staff work really hard at keeping everything clean and replenishing food items when needed. Reception is excellent and again great staff, work hard to satisfy customers - very approachable. Lots of parking. A small fitness room is available. Good restaurants steps away. Beds comfortable, room was very clean and had a sitting area with couch. There was a microwave, bar fridge, coffee capsule machine, iron, lots of space in closet for hanging clothes. Bathroom well supplied with bath towels, hand towels face clothes. Shower and tub combo with regulator for temperature control. Ample toiletries in bathroom. Large screen cable LG TV. Air conditioning was controlled remotely and was a little on cool side for us. ( We recommend the StationHouse Restaurant nearby - price point is a little higher than others but food is very tasty and historic decor an attractor.

Strathmore has grown up since I left almost 10 years ago. Compared to Vancouver Island the rents and property prices are affordable, which is good news for young families. It has a swimming pool, library, lots of schools and nice walking trails and just a 30-40 minute drive from the city of Calgary. Oh, and did I mention, Strathmore still has a small movie theatre.
