My daughter and I loved our stay and would have stayed longer if time had permitted. Danica and Eryk were very helpful and welcoming. The kitchen was a great feature with all of the essentials provided. The coffee in the morning and the meal set out was more than what we needed. Loved the farm fresh eggs option! I also loved the sauna and steam room. Sunset beach was a dream.

We had a great time at Salt Spring Carriage House B&B, and stayed in the garden suite. We are form Victoria and wanted a quiet weekend away from everything and were very happy at how peaceful and remote the location was. Our favorite perks of our stay was the peaceful and private hot tub, very nice indoor propane fireplace, excellent home made breakfast, and overall comfort of the suite. Also the owners were very pleasant to deal with and were very accommodating to us, we can also verify Sue's reputation for making fantastic breakfasts.

The Cottage was fantastic, just what I needed for my solo visit to Salt Spring Island. Well equipped with essential food and snacks and washing equipment, which was very handy for me as I biked from Victoria and packed light. The bed was so comfy and the cottage has a real charm to it, the photos don't do it justice!
Location is great for Ganges and there are some nice trails nearby. The Salt Spring Wild Cider house is on the doorstep and a visit here is a must. The food and cider are amazing.
The owner Pauline is one of the loveliest people I have ever met, a true Canadian gem! Her life story is amazing, she is a mine of information and she goes well out of her way for people.
I really hope to be back some day soon!

There are lots of quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a public library in case you need a place to hang out for awhile on a rainy day. The market takes place on Saturdays. There is a great games store (Foxes) if you want to pick something up to play with the family while in town. There are a couple of thrift stores in case you need to pick up any extra clothing items that you don't necessarily want to bring home.
Be aware of the hours for the restaurants. We were surprised to arrive on a Friday night (late April) to discover that a number of pizza places were closed.

Ganges is an interesting small town on a beautiful island.
Ganges is an interesting small town on a beautiful island. The people are open and welcoming and the prices are still manageable. With all the wonderful local produce and products we hoped the cuisine would be slightly better and there would be more choices. The Saturday market is a great addition to the excitement of the island.

First time. Will definitely come again. Lots to see. Barbs bakery was wonderful. The public library was gorgeous. Only thing is you need a car. Dependent on a travelling companion that drives. Visited the Sheep farm , The train Show and Lavender and Black farm.

Ganges has a number of restaurants and coffee shops but in many cases hours are somewhat limited (likely due to staff shortages at this time). There is plenty going on (including the busy Saturday market) as well as a variety of outdoor activities available to warrant a 3 day or longer stay. We have stayed in or near Ganges a number of times, and plan to return at least once each year, hopefully more.

Ganges is a lovely little walkable town But parking can be a problem. Lots of really cute little shops and eating spots. Really nice marina setting with areas to sit and enjoy the view. Fascinating history and a ton of scenic drives within minutes of the village. Saturday market has an incredible mix of crafts, food, and interesting local handiwork. We made breakfast of it with some amazing local pastries, bread, potstickers and coffee. Sat in the adjacent park and enjoyed the ambience. The perfect ending to a couple lovely days in the area. We drove all over the island and enjoyed the views from one end to the other. Went biking at Ruckle farm, had an amazing lunch at the Rocksalt café, sampled craft beer, goat cheese, local moonshine and met many very friendly local folks. Really a wonderful way to spend our anniversary getaway.
The hostess was welcoming and gracious. She provided an orientation to the facilities when we arrived and was helpful with any questions we had. Both mornings she prepared a lovely breakfast and the coffee was excellent! She told us where to buy it and we came home with a bag of Salt Spring Island coffee beans to enjoy at home.
We would certainly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to friends.
The whole B&B is thoughtfully and beautifully presented. Our room was perfectly clean, the bed and linens were divinely comfortable, and the reservable private sauna and hot tub are a special perk! Breakfast was incredible, and Michelle accommodated our dietary restrictions while serving a hearty and delicious meal in a lovely dining space. Very walkable to and from the heart of Ganges.
Rather spontaneously we spent one night at the Harbour House Hotel. Having the harbour view was nice. Not being far away from downtown was also a plus. And the receptionist, who checked us in was friendly. However, in our opinion service, staff manners and room features are not up to par with the high rate you would rather expect from a 5-star hotel.
The Inn is within walking distance of the Ganges Harbor Airport, and its historic character has been beautifully tended and updated. In June, it was surrounded by gorgeous flowers that make a cameo appearance in the restaurant.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating and graciously tended our luggage for several hours after we'd checked out.
Lovely guest house, delicious two course breakfasts, friendly hosts and funny pet cat. I liked all the accent pieces and furniture which added character to the property. Len was very helpful and friendly. He had a binder of tips and best places to visit. There are board games and a tv in the dining area. Short walk to Ganges city centre.
We really liked our cottage. We were a family with grandparents, parents and two boys in a three bedroom. Lots of room for everyone. It was close close to Ganges and most other things we wanted to do. Only issue was the sun. It did come out around 4:30 pm. But would have been better all day. We were there the end of March.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful! The grounds were stunning and we really enjoyed lounging at the pool and playing around in the games room. Stephanie was an amazing host. This place is a true gem and much more special/unique than most hotels we have stayed at. We will definitely be back next year!
We loved the location on the lake, which was just 15 minutes from Ganges. One had the option to canoe, swim and fish in this lake (we just sat on dock and drank wine) You have full cooking facilities in cabin along with supplied firewood if necessary. A perfect place to stay if one wants to getaway from city.
This is a lovely hotel right in Ganges. The rooms are newly renovated and very well done. We enjoyed the view of the Ganges Harbor from our room. The room was very comfortable. The food from the restaurant was good and we ate it on our private balcony.
Wendy and Joe were great hosts. Their suite is small and cozy and perfectly situated - 15 min to Ganges shops. A lavender farm and sheep farm are 5 min away. The area is beautiful. We'd definitely come back.
The Host couple were very generous and kind, the gardens and rental suite were almost as beautiful as the ocean view.
We will definitely stay here the next time we are on Salt Spring Island!
Very grateful!!
Beautiful place to stay in salt spring island. We will definitely go back. Spacious rooms with beautiful views
The deck is absolutely beautiful, great for spending an evening with friends and wine
The breakfast was very good. My wife and I travel a great deal staying in fine hotels. Hastings House put a smile on my face. The room was very well laid out and everything worked so well.
It was easy walking distance to the main area of Ganges and far enough away from the crowds. Very quiet and relaxing location. The breakfast was amazing and the host were great.
We love this place. The staff was very friendly, excellent location and the breakfast with fresh bread was awesome! High recommend this place to stay in Salt Spring Island.
Beautiful and adorable. Great for romantic getaways. Lots of arts and crafts throughout the property that really provide an authentic Salt Spring Island experience.
