I love ❤️ the view from our window. And the motel was right on the trail for cabot trail. As that was the reason for our trip.
Located on Highway 105, along the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, this motel has a private beach and is one km west of the entrance to the Cabot Trail.

We thought Mac, the owner was a complete delight and very accommodating. We didn’t arrive until late, they even left the lights on for us to enter the property. Cape Breton is beautiful all on its own with breathtaking views, but when you have people like Mac to help your stay be as comfortable as it can then it’s all the more beautiful. We would love to go back in the summer months as it was still winter when we ventured here. Thank you Mac for being one of the kindest people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting on our travels. ☺️

Breakfast at The Freight Shed was AMAZING!!! The staff were kind and so attentive!!! The location on the wharf was just lovely - especially in the early evening, with the view and the food!!! We ate there every morning (as the breakfast was included in our room) and had dinner a few nights!!!

Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes.
Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes. It is very scenic with lovely tourist shops and cafes. The scenery is amazing and the salt water lake offers recreational opportunities. Don't miss the nightly ceilidh, and especially on Thursday evenings. There are lots of great places to eat or drink local beverages.

A very pretty town in itself and the perfect jumping off for the famed Cabot Trail. There are some nice restaurants including the Freight Shed which sits right on the dock which has Muskoka chairs where one can sit and take in the view of the lighthouse.

We spent a lot more time in the Bell's museum because it was above and beyond our expectation.
The museum guided tours are a must-do!
It runs only twice a day (morning and afternoon, but different tour subjects), so make sure to make it.
Our guid was just fantastic!.
We wish our kids were with us for this.
All in all we spent half a day at the museum.

Small town with many restaurants, boutiques, cafes as well as basic amenities such as a pharmacy and grocery store. Wonderful walks along the shore of the Bras D’Or lakes as well as the pier and through town. There are also cultural events such as the music concert we attended and a drama group that puts on plays. The Alexander Bell museum is worth a visit as well.

Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit.
Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit. We learned so much about him and his wife and their impact on science and aviation and so much more!! Needs to be taught in school
Good restaurants from Toms Pizza to the Cable Room five star dining.
Has a neat waterfront boardwalk. A private mega yacht The Mary A was there WOW.
Extremely clean little motel at "Start"or :"End" of Cabot Trail. Owners have worked very hard to make this a comfortable motel. The bathroom was extremely clean, and the new carpet in the room was also very clean. Beds were comfortable. Kettle, coffee maker ,and toaster were provided, along with cups, wine glasses. Tea, coffee, creamer, and sugar, more than many other hotels. Beautiful view from the bedroom of St. Ann's bay.
Dunlop Inn is located on the outskirts of Baddeck but still in close proximity to town centre. This Victorian era house is right on the water unlike centrally located Telegraph House Hotel which is part of the group.
Our room was spacious beds comfortable and breakfast perfect
The owners live in the property in low season and thus this explains the very homely atmosphere
It is a perfect stopover on Cabot Trail
Breakfast was not included but every unit has a kitchenette. There was also a barbecue that was clean, a nice balcony overlooking a pond with a fountain. The place was upgraded and clean, the host was extremely helpful and nice and he had even cut some hiking trails out of the property with varying levels of difficulty. Most importantly, it’s right on the Cabot Trail and close to Baddeck with great restaurants.
A lovely place that is conveniently located. We were able to walk to the Alexander Graham Bell museum (we recommend), and to dinner at the Freight Shed (we recommend), the to the Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs (we highly recommend). The continental breakfast is very nice and there were home made breads, mini quiches,
fresh made waffles with maple syrup, fresh fruit, etc. The staff is very friendly!
I liked the location. Was on a hill so had an amazing view of Bras D'Or lake. Went for a nice swim & enjoyed a beer on the dock. Was a 3-5 minute drive to Baddeck. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Dining room was very pleasant with a great view of lake. Breakfast, which is not included in price, was wonderful and service was great.
a resort style property right on the lake at Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, with many lodge style buildings. Make sure to go to the Alexander Graham Bell museum, so fascinating. and go to the The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs, which is a local Celtic music show put on nightly in town.
It is a Heritage Building situated smack in the Centre of Baddeck. the Furniture Carpets etc. were very clean. we had two beds which was ideal. Other Restaurants were within walking distance for a couple a little over 70 years. We will definitely go again.
This is a very nice B&B. It is a few kms outside Baddeck. Lovely rural property. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable. We had an external bathroom but housecoats were provided and it was no problem at all. The host was very friendly and accommodating!
Cyndy and Dave were welcoming and their place was comfortable and had everything you'd need. Oh, and breakfast options are plentiful and delicious. It was an easy walk into Baddeck for restaurants and shops.
Very well situated hotel at the city limit of Baddeck. It was very quiet and we had a beautiful view towards the water. The room was big and comfortable with a little terrace and two deck chairs.
The room was excellent, it was spacious and had all the amenities on would expect in a 4 star hotel. The King bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast was good.
Kayaks were available and in great shape. Book the Lighthouse room if you want a great view- we were on streetside. Restaurant at Telegraph house was slow.
