Beach and surf town with a very relaxed atmosphere. There are many restaurants, but the very best food is outside the city in a place called Cafe com Cacau. The food and the people there are worth a trip to Itacare. For tours, you have only two options, in my opinion - Dona (Sra.) Cida, a 74 years old lady who will show you the beauties of Itacare beaches and forests. It’s just removed enough to be peaceful, but close enough to town that you can quickly drive down or walk, if you don’t mind the steep hill on the way back up. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The cocoa theme was super fun and made for some delicious cocktails and breakfasts. There is a small communal kitchen with the essentials. There are washing lines for drying clothes and a sink for the laundry. The pousada is in the centre, so the rooms facing the street are a bit noisy, but this seems to be the case with most accommodation in Itacaré. Advantage: everything is close by. I recommend this pousada.
