If there’s a better place to stay in Strahn I would be surprised! Good price, amazing location, very nice accomodation, and the restaurant was lovely with great staff. Laundry facilities after a big hike was a welcome surprise. No notes.

Lovely property, very well appointed. Really comfortable bed, just a delightful place to stay. Annie is a fabulous host.

Really enjoyed doing the Gordon River Heritage Cruise, it was informative and so much wonderful things you wouldn't get to see if you didn't do it. The Captain and staff were lovely and it was a really relaxing day. Highly recommend visiting the Huon Pine Historic Mill and shops as well. The town itself is very small and seems to be run mostly by a few families. So not a lot of restaurant or cafe options. I found the Strahan Village buffet restaurant 42 Degrees that was touted as the gourmet option in town as very average for the price.

Strahan is worth visiting for the Gordon River Cruise and the play, The Ship That Never Was. There is a small nature walk to a small waterfall that is an easy walk. There is a small beach just outside of town as well. Dining options are limited, suggest View 42 buffet, reservations required.

Strahan was a quaint little town with not an awful lot to see and do, but what there is, is worth the visit. We had only the one full day in Strahan - for the river cruise (stayed in town for 2 nights): if we had the time again, we’d allow a second day for local sight-seeing and the train ride. We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather, making the day cruise truly memorable, including some absolutely beautiful scenery and a fascinating tour of the convict settlement on Sarah Island.
Unfortunately, the seafood buffet at ‘View 42 Degrees’ was fully booked out, so we’d advise phoning ahead for that!
We weren’t entirely sure if we’d visit Strahan as part of our Tasmania trip as it was a little ‘out of our way’: we are now glad that we made the effort!

We loved everything we did in Strahan - from staying in the King Suite in the Wilderness Lodge, to the World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River, The Ship That Never Was play, Hogarth Falls and sunsets over the water on Beach Rd.
The locals were fanatastic too - do yourself a favour and go there !

Ken and Jo are extremely welcoming hosts, friendly and warm just like their wonderful house.
Harrison House is a very special place in the magical village of Strahan. Our stay was indeed a wonderful chance to take a break, including a delicious breakfast. Jo and Ken have created a beautiful home stay with stylish interior in a delightful house - the bedroom, bedding, furnishings all created a truly lovely ambience. We enjoyed a movie in the living room with a beautiful warm fire. Thank you for our stay!
When we booked a few months ago we received a call from Megs welcoming us and asking if we had any special requests. How nice. On arrival, Megs was very friendly, informative and helpful. Our cabin was comfortable, clean and warm with great amenities. The BBQ area was a welcome addition for outdoor cooking. The only thing I would add to the cabins or BBQ area would be a stainless steel spatula. Plastic just doesn’t cut it. Great place to stay - close to all that beautiful Strahan has to offer.
Terry and Rose were great hosts and most friendly. They know the area and give good advice. Terry gives a great talk of the history of the house and family. Strahan is not big so the house is in walking distance of most things. They offer a continental breakfast, it is not small so is more than enough to set you up for the day until lunch. Make sure you go up stairs to see the little history of the house.
Great location - close to attractions and we walked to restaurants and pubs nearby. They prefer contactless check in which was great during this pandemic. Lovely gardens with waterviews from our room.
Fully equipped kitchen - even with a stove top, pot and pans! Free to use laundry with washing powder provided, and a free breakfast basket is provided daily.
The place is pet friendly!
We had an amazing experience. Everything from checkin to facilities was great. Staff was super helpful. Our villa was very clean and spacious and well appointed for a family of 4 . Location was superb. This is an under rated motel and photos dont do justice to how good it is .We would definitely love to stay again for our next trip to Strahan.
This was a dreamy and dreamlike place at the same time. Nestlled in the beautiful setting of Tasmanian wilderness, there is a beautiful garden, a big room with kitchen and everything. Also the WIFI and the shower were good. Excellent accomodation 5 Mins driving from Ocean Beach and Strahan town center. Could not be much better....
Super cool, the accommodation is located in a variety of cottages along main street. They were all very cute. Staff were lovely at check in and check out. Bed was really comfy and we enjoyed the spa. Location was great as everything in Strahan was close by and our view was the river.
Beautifully quaint holiday cottages, set in gorgeous gardens, that were very cosy & comfortable inside with everything you need. The bed was comfy & it was in a lovely quiet location that was very close to everything & ideal for our needs for a two night stay.
Loved the style and design, perfectly curated to suit the location. Wish more Tasmania accomodation was at this level! The location was close to everything but you do need a car in Strahan. Highly recommend.
- Nice view outside the family studio window
- Within easy reach to the great Hogarth Falls (1.4 km) walk
- The continental brekky had a good selection of cereals but don't feel enough milk was provided
Clean motel-like accommodation, easy to access, friendly and welcoming receptionist. The unit is basic and comfortable and with air conditioning which needed because the unit can get very warm in summer.
Very pleasant 2 day stay in Strahen at Franklin Manor. Azia, Consuela and Zoe were super efficient and friendly.
Good breakfast served in the dining room. Bar with good selection of wines and spirits.
We enjoyed the spacious and quiet accommodation and very comfortable beds. Short walk to the Strahan waterfront including the Gordon River Cruise, hotels, restaurants, etc. Very pleasant owner.
A wonderful stay in Strahan - and a fabulous property, which was beautifully presented. Great location too - a short walk to the sea front and ferries. Thanks again for such a great stay!
Wonderful location, great for family. The two toilets was a definite bonus with six adults and two children! The kids and grandparents alike loved the table tennis table!
