Duart Stables, hotel in Maffra

Boasting garden views, Duart Stables provides accommodation with patio, around 12 km from Stratford Train Station. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay.

The furniture, finishes and fixtures all the way down to the light switches was well executed and charming. The level of detail and obvious effort to nail the rustic aesthetic is commendable. The beds were very comfortable and the complimentary amenities provided were of decent quality.

The country cottage was so welcoming.

The country cottage was so welcoming. Every room was beautifully dressed. The gas heater made the lounge room snug, perfect for reading a book or having a glass of wine. Wish we had booked a week. We ate at some beautiful cafes in the Stratford which was only 10-15 mins away.

House is lovely. Location is quiet and easy to find. Kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. We stayed in the middle of winter and the bedrooms were a bit cold. Main living area has a large gas fire and AC so it stays very comfortable. It was a fabulous place to celebrate our 30th anniversary and our sons graduation.

Conveniently located near the end/beginning of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail. I really enjoyed a pub style meal at the Maffra Community Sports Club. The remnant pre WWWII architecture in the town is worth seeing.
