We went to the Parisian Art Exhibition which was amazing.
We went to the Parisian Art Exhibition which was amazing. The restaurant also had a French menu which was very good. Lovely staff.
The Chinese Dragon gardens & surrounding gardens were beautiful with all the fall leaves coming.
We were there Monday & Tuesday so some of the restaurants we were thinking of going to were closed those days.
The church was also closed those days.
Bendigo is a very relaxed & beautiful historic town.
We probably should have stayed another day to even see more of the nearby areas.
We had breakfast at an amazing organic restaurant that also sells fruit & vegetables. You will find it in Lyttleton Terrace. Lovely young friendly staff & tasty healthy food.

Bendigo has a great art gallery and some fantastic heritage buildings and museums. There are also good food options such as The Dispensary (highly recommend). It is a good base camp for discovering the area to visit other heritage towns.

Plenty of local attractions to see, with lots of period architecture.
Foodies are very well catered for with abundant little restaurants all through the city centre and some amazing menu items.
Two recommendations are the Golden Square Hotel (I ordered Thia Red Duck Curry, which was very nice. But when I saw the Chef's special for the night coming out - Porterhouse Steak and Pot/Glass of wine $28 - I wished I had ordered that instead.
The other one is Sim'r in Hargreaves St, which has some amazing things on the menu and make in-house a range of amazing breads

Borchelli Italian restaurant is great, with excellent meals and desserts. Bendigo Art Gallery is worth a visit, with the current Paris: Impressions of Life exhibition. The Hat Shop is also fun, with a huge selection of hats. The Australian Eucalyptus Oil Company has a good selection of products for gifts, plus plenty of shops to suit all tastes.
The staff from the moment we walked into the office and the moment we left we were made to feel so welcome and accommodated. I was there to work so I knew I wouldn’t need much time in a hotel and chose this one because of how cheap it was to start and now I will continue to go back because of how clean, comfortable and friendly the place was. Thank you so much for having us and being so kind.
We enjoyed everything about Abbey View. On a rushed trip to attend the Elvis Exhibition the location was excellent for us and for anyone else intending to visit the Bendigo Art Gallery. Comfortable and quality accommodation, bedding and kitchen facilities along with an excellent heating & cooling split system(s). Totally recommend Abbey View and we will return.
The hotel’s fabric is full of history. The room we had was atmospheric and tastefully decorated featuring original artworks. The bed was very comfortable promoting a good night’s sleep. The host/owners were attentive and part of the experience.
The Ernest is situated in the heart of Bendigo next to the gardens.
A very lovely property with true character features. The little extras such has milk/coffee capsules/choc bars / was a bonus.
Property was very secure for my small dogs. An easy 10 minute walk to a great hotel "Brougham Arms" where they serve excellent and close to Bendigo main town.
Fantastic motel right in the middle of the Bendigo CBD, next to the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The facilities and amenities were excellent and the hotel staff proactively communicated in regards to the check-in process as it was Christmas Day. Ample parking space close to the rooms.
Beautifully renovated cottage so much more inviting and cosy than hotel rooms generally on offer. Large walk in showers, comfy beds and heating. Fully equipped kitchen & laundry etc - perfect for a longer stay. Well located with cafe across the road and pub around the corner.
Clean, quite comfortable basic room in a brilliant location right in the Bendigo CBD. Bonus was free weekend car parking next door at the multi-level carpark (that may have been limited to that specific weekend though, given there were a lot of special events on at the time)
For my overnight business trip to Bendigo, the Quality Hotel Lakeside was fantastic! The king bed room in the new building is a modern, large and well appointed room with a comfy bed and great bathroom. I will definitely be staying again.
The breakfast was excellent, the motel was almost opposite the Art Gallery, our reason for visiting Bendigo. The motel suggested we might like to leave our car and collect it after our visit. We appreciated not having to find parking.
Family room has 2 single beds for our 2 kids, which is more than I expected.
The pool was great, small but kids loved it!! Great for cooling down and expensing some energy.
The pub attached to the hotel has great food.
Location to Bendigo City Centre was in Walking distance so we didn't have to worry about finding parking.
We walked around the Lake before we headed into the Bendigo Arts Centre to see the Elvis Exhibition.
Great location. A very comfortable hotel with beautiful rooms. Feels like home, with a very sweet dog. Special thanks to Martin, the hotel owner with a very warm and friendly welcome. Highly recommend!
This is our go to place every time we visit Bendigo.
It is unique to have a bar, bistro and accommodation all under the one roof
This is the best in hotel/motel accommodation
The family room had plenty of space and the hotel is conveniently located for visiting Bendigo. The hotel was quiet and clean, with places to eat within easy walking distance.
