The view!! Make sure you get a sea view room. Nice pool and the beach area in front of the hotel is nice. Lovely comfy bed, lovely bedding, big towels, aircon worked well, decent size although slightly dated bathroom. The reception and waiting staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. It's clearly a city that is growing its tourism sector by building new hotels and restaurants along the coast. The current location is lovely on the beach, and the hotels and restaurants are great, but the infrastructure is still developing (as one should expect in a developing country) so can be a bit difficult to navigate.

Durres is nice to visit for the day if you’re coming from Tirana as it’s a 30 minute bus ride and only 180 lek. However, this is a case of Instagram vs reality, the photos of the beach do not measure up. Unfortunately the beach is riddled with building debris and plastic waste, making it unsafe to walk on barefoot. I would not return and would not come here for a beach holiday.
Sunsets on the beach were nice.

Durres is the largest seaport of the country and the oldest...
Durres is the largest seaport of the country and the oldest city in Albania with almost 3,000 years of history. Learning the history of this country was valuable in understanding the areas where I have been. Albania has suffered much under the cruel 40-year dictatorshp of Enver Hoxha that lasted until 1985. He was an atheist and ordered all buildings of worship to be destroyed. Thus, I have only seen a handful of churches and mosques. The Grand Mosque is located nearby and is a lovely piece of architecture. The calls to worship that come from the speakers on the minaret (pointing in all directions of the compass) are pleasant to hear even if they start at 6:00 a.m. The calls are heard 5 times a day and is a part of every day life.
There are several open air archeological sites within walking distance. Museums were closed unfortunately during my entire 14-day stay. Cafes are everywhere and offer inexpensive tasty traditional food.
It is obvious that the city is very affluent with the influx of tourism. The sidewalks in the centre are made of polished stone. English is spoken or understood in limited degrees but enough for me to be understood. When I pay for an item, I put the small change in my hand and they pick out the coins needed and are always careful to let me know what they are doing. Albanian currency is the LEK although they will accept euros at 100 LEK to 1 Euro.
Durres has been my home for two weeks and it has been a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Durres is on the one hand an exiting city, but on the other too crowded.
The traffic is terrible. High airpolution. Mentality of people different to what we are used to in Europe.
Every body is very friendly when asked for help or support, and a lot of them are speaking broken German lanuage, 90% of the young males lover 3er BMW, the older generation is more or less Mercedes-fan.
All other cars are not cars, but vehicles.
But be careful. Not all are your friends.
The females know two ways of talking only: 1. loud / 2. very loud
Beside the capital Tirana, and the big towns Durres and Shkodar, where people most live, the country is poor, but with a lovely landscape.
It takes more then 3 weeks to discover Albania and its secrets. But its worthwile, once you are retired and still fit and adventoures.

we went to the city of Durrës twice, once by city bus (but inside the bus was very crowded) and the second time we went by taxi. The city was very beautiful and we saw development constructions being done, the food was very tasty, I recommend it to others because they will find what they are looking for in their vacation

We made a visit to Durrës on the second part of October.
We made a visit to Durrës on the second part of October. The weather was still very good. (26-30°C).
The best thing in Durres was the value for money. The food is really good. The fish is super fresh/localy , and this for very low prices. The prices are 3 times lower than in Belgium.
People are very friendly but there English is not that good. The area is safe and the people are honest about their prices.
You really see that it is a country/city in development. There will be old-abandoned buildings next to new ones. And the infrastructure is old or non existing.
There are some old historical ruines in the city. But they are not cared for.
But certainly it is a nice please to visit for 1-2 days.
Incredible and well equipped luxury apartment in the centre of Durres promenade.
Very clean, with a terrace surrounding whole apartment and offering view to the city and sea.
Very smooth keys collection and keys return procedure, a big plus was we got a parking spot just at the entrance to the building.
Very good restaurants around, Artur for a bit more fancy dining and Zgara Dilo across the street for some more authentic Albanian taste.
Overall, highly recommendable! 👍
Wonderful apartment with everything that I wanted/needed for a few weeks. The apartment is centrally located on Durres Beach (a few minutes walk) and easily accessible via bus line (40lek/40 cents fare Sept 2023), located on the 9th floor of the building. The elevator worked great except one day was held up by someone upstairs, so I got to get my leg exercise in that day. Can't say enough good things about the apartment - I would DEFINITELY stay there again.
this is a good, modern hotel. The hotel is located close to the sea (1-2 minutes). Sun loungers are included in the price. There is sand on the beach. Excellent tasty food (especially fish). responsive staff. The owner of the hotel is very kind and attentive. Near the hotel there is a pharmacy, mini markets, I bought at Mario, because there are prices on products. The room was cleaned every day!
Albanians are very nice and friendly people
Public transport is a bit hectic in Albania and it seems that there is no bus arriving exactly at the property. However, the owner picked me up at the bus station. It was great that the WiFi was so strong - that I could use it at the beach in front of the hotel. Despite the busy promenade, the room was surprisingly quiet. Air conditioning worked well. The owner drove me to the airport for 20 eur - cheaper than the local taxi driver suggestion.
It’s the best priced place we could find. However, the apartment exceeded our expectation! The room was clean and the bed was very thick. We slept like babies.
The neighbourhood was good and close to the beach.
The family who runs the place is really kind and helpful. They did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Nothing but good word for the apartment and the family! We’ll come back next time we’re on Durres!
My stay at the Adriatik Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to the breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea from my stylish room, every moment was pure luxury. The impeccable service, delectable dining, and well-maintained amenities created a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend the Adriatik Hotel for a 5-star getaway with a perfect blend of elegance and indulgence.
This was my second stay. Everything is great. Fantastic breakfast and trips (Saranda, Vlora, Durres) Best lovely Albanian family. MIss you ALL already. Thank you for your hospitality. Meeting you was like the old days. Isn't it amazing that with my greatest Albanian family you can continue from where you left off a year ago and it feels like five minutes ago. Unë të dua. a wonderful hotel ! For 2 weeks of traveling in Northern Macedonia and Albania, this is the best hotel . We stayed in this wonderful place 2 times, we are absolutely satisfied with everything .
- Close location to the sea

- polite staff
-the food in the restaurant is very tasty
- hearty breakfasts
- spacious rooms
- the hosts are attentive to their guests
À fabulous family-run hotel in the very center of the old town, just a few footsteps away from the seafront. Charming welcome, the hotel staff was very helpful, the room nice and clean, parking just in front of the hotel, exceptional breakfast… what else do you want. It was our last day in Albania and without any doubt one of the most memorable hotels. Make sure you don’t miss it!
Our stay was amazing which is considered the best stay ever in Albania.
The owner is very humble and incredibly supportive also the reception staff was very friendly and helpful.
The management of the hotel is very generous for all guests’ needs.
Moreover, location, breakfast and hospitality were amazing too.
I’m really very thankful for this super hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We stopped at Ziku Hotel as a layover in our trip from the South of Albania to the North. The place is like on the pictures. Simple but confortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast included is good (eggs, salad and fruits). The owners only speak Albanian but you communicate with google translate and they are friendly. Good value for money.
The host did not speak english at all but with google translete all the info i could get, very helpfull attitude, one night i could not sleep because of mosquitos and the host bring me a mosquito protector, i would 100% recommend it!
The house was really big where i got one room but felt like living a rich life in Durres Albania
Absolutely amazing location right on the main street. The hotel was so comfortable and the staff made us feel welcome. The breakfast was great too. We stayed here for three nights and it was a great decision. Definitely recommend this beautiful hotel if you're visiting Durres!
I will definitely recommend this cozy hotel. The team members are super friendly and helpful. The Albanian breakfast was delicious.
I would suggest you to visit the main restaurant - The best pizza I tried in Albania within my 1 week vacation!!!
The food was beautiful, the people were so friendly and very helpful and durres is a lovely place. Albania is an absolutely beautiful country and we will definitely go back there, and definitely go back to durres and ventus harbor hotel also.
One of the best hostels in the Balkans. Big kitchen, huge courtyard, great view from the rooftop, plenty of bathrooms/showers and incredibly helpful/friendly staff...oh yeah, and the location is perfect. If you're staying in Durrës stay here
Very friendly host who went over the top with everything. I wanted to have some more kitchen equipment and he provided everything. And even offered to drive me to my next destination. If I come back to Albania, I know where to go ;)
It was the first time visiting Albania , and i chose this hotel to stay. It was very good . The staff very kind , room clean and the restaurant was perfect 👍🏻
