The pool is part jacuzzi, so that was a pleasant surprise. Quiet surroundings with a fantastic paddy field view. Kitchen had all the necessary utensils with a decent supply of spices and condiments. Would definitely come back here.

We stayed 6 days in this wonderful hotel and it was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip in Sri Lanka!!! The hotel is located in front of the beach and guarantees full immersion in the natural frame with the breathtaking view on the sea and at same time with the comfort and services of the luxury hotel. Furthermore, it is close to interesting tourist areas, amazing beaches, restaurants,…The hotel is modern, cosy, furnished with great taste and sense of details, everything is perfectly clean, the swimming pool is amazing, the food is delicious!!! And the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff are just outstanding and make you feel being home. THANK YOU for the stay that we will remember as one of our best hotel stays!

Great quiet cabin 5-10min away from Mirissa. Property is on a hill (road is bumpy so take it easy when you drive there) and the cabin is in the backyard of the owners' family house. It's completely private though, you're surrounded by trees, birds, frogs and monkeys. We stayed for two nights, one of which the owner drove us to town and back for dinner, which was was lovely and kind. Host family are lovely and we felt very welcome.

From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation. Its unmatched hospitality, and inviting ambiance have left an indelible mark on my travel memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly exceptional homestay experience in Sri Lanka.
