It’s tremendously exciting for world travelers to find somewhere very special like Rodrigues Island, 600 km east of Mauritius. Even more intriguing is what the accommodation will be like so far from the populated world. The pick-up from the little airport was faultless despite a common Air Mauritius delay and we were greeted at the Blue Room by John who showed us around and settled us in. The accommodation is simple and entirely unpretentious where everything works, including (now wait for it) wifi that yields, another ‘wait for it’, 320 Mbps! Plenty of water for the shower, hot and cold, with uninterrupted power supply. John can make available a car, a robust 4x4, at rates that, as I told him, are far below market rates. The Blue Room overlooks the somewhat distant Indian ocean that is a short drive away in Anse aux Anglais, down the hill. Restaurant-wise, there’s not a hell of a lot going on in Rodrigues but the local village down the hill offers some animation in the way of two okay eateries and a little grocery store. It’s pretty too. So, it’s a great place to stay (without AC but good fans) and highly recommended indeed. Bravo John!

Eagles Nest Residence ligger på øen Rodrigues og tilbyder nyrenoveret indkvartering, 1,7 km fra Grand Bay Beach og 17 km fra Francois Leguat Reserve. Mr & Mrs Jameson were very warm and welcoming. The cottage is situated on the high where the view is spectacular over the ocean. The cleanliness was second to none. Owner was helpful and felt home. It was my first time at the Rodrigues and can strong recommend the Eagles Nest Cottage. It’s spacious and can easier accommodate a family of 5. The cottage has a kitchen facility where you can prepare a good feast if you don’t feel like going out.

Fabulous location and peaceful place to be. Close to Port Mathurin. Mr Fabien and his wife were so welcoming. The villa had all the amenites required.

The location was great and the apartment was very spacious. We really enjoyed the kindness and attention to detail by Liz and Tim. They made our stay memorable and we will definitely be back . Le Havre Gourmand ligger i Port Mathurin, 14 km fra Francois Leguat Reserve og 2,8 km fra Saint Gabriel-kirken, og har udsigt til haven og den indre gårdhave. Our stay was most peaceful and enjoyable - Valerie and Andre warmly welcomed us with fresh fruit juice from their garden upon arrival. We had a very comfortable stay, in a lush location on the high grounds, surrounded by trees and an ocean view. With so many fruit trees, we could easily watch the local and adorable Rodrigues flying foxes from the balcony every evening at dusk. The kitchen was well stocked (oil, sugar, salt, among other basics), with all the utensils you might need to cook your meals as we did for the most part. Not far from Mont Lubin (~10 min walk) and Port Mathurin (by bus, bus stop is right in front) for groceries. They also offered laundry services for a fee. We were lucky to enjoy Valerie's bread and jams and even took some with us onward to our next destination on the island. Highly recommend!

Great place with very nice view of the sea and nature, in a quiet location. The house is well equipped with everything needed for short/long stays, and it's very clean and modern. Jeanette and Phil were very welcoming, and we felt at home since we arrived. Port Sud can be reached by foot, as there's a direct trail towards it (not showing on Google Maps)

Great apartment in the heart of Port Mathurin. The place was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. The villa was easily accessible, secure and had a convenient parking space. The hosts staying next door were excellent hosts and wonderful people. We hope to be back soon.

COCO MANGO Villa har havudsigt og tilbyder indkvartering med terrasse, ca. 18 km fra Francois Leguat Reserve. Denne lejlighed har aircondition og balkon. Facilities and location. Isolated enough but easily accessible by road. Rodrigues is not big enough to worry too much about transport system.
