Providenciales (2.1 miles from Providenciales International Airport)
Featuring lake views, Villa Serenity by the Water provides accommodation with pool with a view and a balcony, around 2.4 km from Sunset Beach. Villa Serenity was exactly what I expected for the price point. Just a reminder to the negative reviewers that this place is about 1/3 - half the price of the other resorts by Grace Bay. The property has 3 units and I stayed in the one bedroom suite for the first few nights while working remotely, before moving into the larger family suite when my friend arrived to meet me. There is an omnipresent property manager onsite, Lionel, who is super helpful - his English is not the best, but I could get by fine with elementary Spanish. Shirlett was incredibly responsive via Whatsapp and provided me with instructions on checking in when I arrived. There was no email correspondence with instructions prior to my arrival, so just go with the flow. The one bedroom was spacious and clean with great AC, kitchen had everything I needed, and TV worked fine (has live TV as well as apps on Amazon fire). Internet is not secure (does not have a password) and is very spotty in case folks need to a strong signal. The family suite was huge, with AC only in the bedrooms downstairs, thus the gorgeous living/dining room and kitchen were a bit too warm to hang out in. Mosquitos were definitely present, so make sure all the unscreened windows are shut. The location is just west of Turtle Lake (use the icon on the map referenced on this site, not the address) and as other reviewers said you need to walk 15-20 min for a restaurant or grocery store. After renting a car, driving around the island was super easy as it's relatively small. When I arrived, the wooden-looking above ground pool in the property photos had been taken down, and by the time I left it was already replaced by a huge inflatable version - Lionel is the man! Thanks for a good time in T&C!

Not being from the island is difficult to answer. Never really knew where we were, didn't care. It all seemed the same to me. However access to the beaches were practically in arms reach. Finding them wasn't difficult if your willing to explore, call them "happy accidents". Gas is expensive, but everything is so close we only filled up once--just to oblige the car rental company.
If you love snorkeling this is the place to be. Voted 3rd best reef in the world. Tropical weather 80's in December. Or if you want to just sit and enjoy the sun.... I highly recommend an Air B&B since most of the resorts are expensive. Sarawack Estates is in the middle of the PLS airport and Grace Bay an excellent location.
Five Cays in TCI is dotted with residential settlements and is off the beaten path of the very touristy and developed Grace Bay. Excellent access by car to grocers, gas etc. from Five Cays. Two outstanding south shore beaches plus short drive to Long Bay Beach and Grace Bay. Chalk Sound is the hidden gem of Provo. Kayaking this National Marine Park is a MUST. Day trips (TCI ferry to North Caicos, Middle Caicos) was one of the highlights of our trip. Best snorkelling is on Grace Bay in front of the Coral Gardens Resort / Somewhere grill. Bring your own snorkel gear or be prepared to pay 50 USD per set at the grocery store or gift shops.
I was expecting more sights , overall extremely bad value for money . Restaurants far too expensive as are products in the supermarkets . Staff in most hotels were rude or indifferent . (Beaches was the exception , with all staff extremely pleasant and professional ). The various Beaches are nice but could be cleaner. I will not be back .
(1) The host(owner of property or perhaps manager) Rachel was spectacular. She was friendly, helpful and pro-active. She anticipated your needs. She was everywhere doing everything to help with service. (2) Property exceptionally well maintained and decorated and pristinely groomed and cleaned. (3) Great attention to restocking and cleaning of villas. (4) Amazing panoramic view of water from deck in Chalk Sound view villas. (5) The food, service and ambience in the restaurant was top shelf. Highly recommend the grouper entrée, the mahi mahi tacos, cerviche and avocado salad. (6) Short walks to Chalk Sound beach and associated sun bathing as well as hotel water recreational activity. Sopadilla Beach an equallly short walk in the other direction which was beautiful and quaint with a mixture of tourists and locals. Sunset there was spectacular. Locals have food and drink stands. Highly recommend the rum punch and grilled lobster from the beach stands. And find Anthony if he is still around and likely he will be.
