Jan Harmsgat Country House is set in a historic 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by the Langeberg Mountains and the Breede River. Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful, tranquil surroundings, excellent food ( best breakfast of our whole trip), super friendly staff. Great hiking/ running trails straight from the front door. I don’t usually feel inclined to write reviews but this place was really quite special. Highly recommend it!

A Riverbed Guesthouse in Swellendam has 4-star accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool and barbecue facilities. The property is set less than 1 km from top restaurants, shops and Drostdy Museum. stunning location. mountains towering above you. beautiful landscaped gardens with shared modern pool steps from your door. Room was large with self catering facilities. very comfortable bed and huge bathroom. owner very helpful and on site. The 2 most friendly Great Danes were a bonus too

There is a great pool and a perfect sitting area just to enjoy your Swellendham evening while having a slow talk with other travellers. Big room, fast wi-fi, warm welcome from the owners - exceptional place to stay!

My wife and I really appreciated the fact that all the plugs were baby proofed and that there was a camping cot ready to be used if we wanted to use it, considering that we were travelling with our baby. It was also nice having access to the animals on the farm and that my son was able to feed them, with carrots left for us in the fridge by the property owners.
