And the place itself? Gorgeous! Really spacious, equipped with anything you can think of, Gerda provided us with variety of food options like eggs, homemade bread and jam, yogurts and drinks in the fridge. But most importantly the vibe of the place was great. We felt like home and wished to stay there for longer. Highly recommended. And as for the navigation someone complained about- no issue at all. GPS and also Gerda’s description you receive in advance is accurate!

A Place in the Paddock is situated in Matamata and offers a garden. Guests staying at this holiday home have access to a fully equipped kitchen and a terrace. The location was on a farm property just a couple of kms from Matamata. The view was stunning! It was was peaceful, lots of games, books.

Walnut Lodge B&B offers accommodation in Matamata. Every room at this bed and breakfast is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Absolutely beautiful property. Everything from the decor to the comfortable bed to the great shower made it a perfect stay. And the breakfast was delicious. Walnut Lodge is a labour of love for its owners Mike and Mia and you can see how much pride and effort they put into their property. Would recommend it to anybody looking to stay in the Matamata area. It was outstanding.

Central Motor Lodge is located on Morrinsville's main street within 250 metres of local shops, restaurants and bars. Accommodation options include spacious rooms and stylish suites with modern décor. The room was spacious. Defined lounge and tv area, dining, bed and kitchen. Bathroom was also large with plenty of room. Friendly staff.

Built in 1977, The Nunnery is located in central Te Aroha and offers a guest lounge and a shared patio with BBQ facilities. It is a 2-minute walk from the Te Aroha Mineral Spas. Although central to Te Aroha township, the accommodation is tucked away under a quiet mountain and is beautifully presented. My father enjoys staying here every time.

Located in the centre of Matamata, this motel offers a swimming pool and a hot tub. All rooms offer a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. I was arriving at midnight 1.30 am, but no worries, de man of the motel was very friendly and takes time to help me. Absolutely good experience!! Also the accommodation was the best of my trip in 5 weeks!
