Offering free WiFi and set on the bank of a stream, Chalet Karaka offers accommodation 3 minutes' drive from Takaka village in Golden Bay. Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Wonderful hosts and truly lovely cottage with access to spa including hot tubs, plenty of activities to do in the region and Takaka is a very unique town!

Great place to stay and explore Abel Tasman & Golden Bay. Mark is a perfect host, we spent a great time for Christmas at his B&B ! Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is great ! Eclectic little cluster of 4 chalets well maintained right outside of Tanaka (short 1 km walk on paved trail into town). Wonderful, welcoming owners who see after everything with great detail. Originally booked here because Kaiteriteri over the hill had nothing left, but would stay in Golden Bay again in heart beat. Nice drive to Totaranui on easy gravel road to take water taxi to Abel Tasman.

This is a beautiful spot, super quiet, lovely friendly owners that even brought us some freshly baked muffins. Loved everything about this place and will definitely be back.
