Hotel Kolsay Eki Agayindy in Kurmenty has 3-star accommodation with a shared lounge, a restaurant and a bar. A large modern property in a very rural town. The facilities were spacious and clean. The host was lovely and attended to all of our needs. She provided us with a microwave and kettle when we had our own food and with delicious breakfasts and dinner at other times. Although we could not communicate verbally, we managed very well by using Google translate. The internet did not work at times so we would recommend you download the Russian pack prior to arriving. The electricity was out for a few hours but this was not a problem for us at all as it was during the day and we were out exploring the local attractions such as Kolsay and Kaindy lakes.

Park House Taldykorgan is located in Taldykorgan. The hotel provides both free WiFi and free private parking. Friendly and efficient staff, once we found the hotel. Breakfast, for Kazakhstan standards, vs English standards was excellent. Oatmeal kasha (porridge), fried eggs, bread, cheese and cold meat. Tea or instant coffee was no problem for the excellent and friendly cook / waitress. TV worked well although the internet did not. Fridge and kettle in the room were a bonus. Everything was clean and well up to European 3-4 star standard at European 1 star prices.
