Stopped here with a friend as we tour on motorbike. Host had no English but translated using her phone which was appreciated. Allowed us park our bikes out back with cover. Place was immaculate and the owner cooked us an amazing breakfast. Genuine host and place was charming and nice to get away from busier places for a night.

Offering rustic rooms overlooking El Bierzo Valley, this charming hotel is set in the village of Orellán, 3 km from Las Médulas. Very well planned and renovated rooms with nice shower and quiet and efficient air conditioning (essential in summer). Isabel and her husband care absolutely lovely for their guests and their cooking at night is the perfect finish for the day. We felt extremely welcome. Very close and ideal spot to visit Las Medulas. Great hiking opportunities in the area.

Surrounded by vineyards, this 18th-century palace is located in the small village of Canedo, just 30 minutes’ drive from Ponferrada. It offers guided visits of the palace and the vineyards. The atmosphere and the surroundings were fantastic. The staff were incredible, helpful and kind. Our room was rustic, romantic in design with a fantastic fireplace, plenty of wood and great view from the room of the vineyard. This was a great anniversay experience for us. Dinner was very nice as was breakfast in our room.
