Spacious and comfortable room with a great view of the waterfront. Good bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, a comfortable couch, and soft carpeting. And our son and daughter-in-law had a suite big enough for a cot for their baby, just as we’d requested. What we especially appreciated is that instead of pretensions of luxury typical of so many hotels these days, we found down-to-earth hospitality and practical amenities. Excellent value for the price.

Dit historische pand werd gebouwd in 1906 en is gerenoveerd om de originele open haarden en glas-in-loodramen te markeren. We particularly loved the spectacular view from our room and that Grande Vue was so close to the city. Battery Point itself, the part of Hobart where Grand Vue is located, is a beautiful area with historic houses, so definitely worth seeing. There was home made cake you could help yourself to in the afternoon and the owner Ash was a lovely and caring person. Parking wasn’t an issue either as it’s possible to get a resident parking permit.
