Carlo's Bridge
This faithful friend has spanned the watery divide between the Old Town and Malá Strana for over 600 years. The stream of footsteps on the cobbles sounds out a restless beat, accompanying the myriad street musicians and performers. Bronze statues stand watch over the crowd, giving an eternal sense of grandeur to this most majestic of Prague’s bridges.

Beautiful fantastic historical journey across the bridge.
Beautiful fantastic historical journey across the bridge. Do some research on the statues you will see before you go. We went up to the castle first then walked down to Charles Bridge and crossing into the Old Town area.

Bustling in the afternoon, but still a wonderful walk across this amazing bridge where artists line the streets between statues of old. And the views of the city are breathtaking. Early in the day would be the least traveled times for less traffic, but any time of the day is still work the stroll.

We were so concerned about the crowds from watching travel blogs but it was fine. Leave the bridge and stroll down to the Lennon wall. It was a quiet reprieve and peaceful setting. Loved the artists set up along the bridge and bought a lovely watercolor of the city to enjoy for years to come.

Hebrew writing on the cross was a punishment for the jews for false allegations of blasphemy. Small plaque near the floor give details although the wording on English plaque is milder then the one in hebrew. City seem embarrassed of past crimes.

Please be aware that close to the Charles Bridge on the Vltava there are colonies of nutrias that are harmful to animals. People either don´t see the warning signs or there aren´t too many, but nutrias have been fed by tourists and locals for years and now they are ruining the habitat of local birds and fish. Besides, they can also attack dogs and humans, so you should treat them as any other rodent, don´t feed them and stay away from them

We were very, very pleased that we chose the Hotel Certovka. The location is exceptional - right at the Prague Castle side of Charles Bridge. We took the Devil’s Channel cruise and literally passed right by our hotel window. The breakfast was great. Excellent selection and variety. Value is 10/10. Location is 10/10. Good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. Take the 15 Tram to within a short walk from hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were also among the cleanest hotel rooms we’ve seen in recent travels.
Best location in the city next to the Charles Bridge. Breakfast in the morning was great. Staff was super friendly and went through a map at check in showing best places to see and location from the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and will stay there anytime I go to Prague.
Our three-night stay at the Inside Melia Hotel in Prague was truly a lifesaver. After a bad experience with an apartment rental through a competitor platform, booking our three nights here the day before turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The hotel was impeccably clean, the facilities were outstanding, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Its location was also excellent, just a three-minute walk from the Powder Tower and a convenient 20-minute stroll from Charles Bridge.
Perfectly located near the center of Prague and steps away from the Charles Bridge. This stay was not like a hotel but like a sleepover at a locals house.
Loved this hotel. Perfect location a few minutes walk to the Charles Bridge yet a very private street area. Inside was beautiful, great bed, great bathroom. I had the apt. with the bonus of the washing machine. The two main sections of Prague for tourism right at your doorstop. Staff was incredibly friendly. Actually Beethoven stayed in an apt. like building 100 yards away. I would stay here in a heartbeat again.
The location was perfect for us with it being a short walk to Charles Bridge or the foot of Prague Castle. They have a surface lot right there at the hotel too which is pretty rare in my experience with driving a car through a few old cities in Europe. They have a massive, and delicious, spread for breakfast every morning and the staff was incredibly nice. The beds were great too and just what we needed after walking 25~30k steps every day.
Staff was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and well-appointed. If you're visiting Prague to explore Old Town and Lesser Town (including the castle), the hotel is really ideally located within blocks of the Charles Bridge. If you're venturing out to other parts of Prague or the Czech Republic, as in most places in Prague, excellent and inexpensive public transportation is within a stone's throw.
Location is great - close to the Charles Bridge and midway between Prague Castle and the Old Town.
The hotel is also very flexible and able to accommodate early breakfast. The room is overall really good for the price.
Fantastic find in Prague. Quiet location not far from the Castle and only 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge and the old town.
Modern, stylish, clean apartment with comfortable bed and bedding. Good amenities.
Friendly, welcoming, accommodating staff.
This boutique hotel is located on Nerudova Street, right in the heart of Mala Strana and only a 3-minute walk from the famous Charles Bridge. The staff are extremely helpful and will go more than one extra mile to accommodate any of your requests, and help you plan your visit to Prague and trips outside the city. The food recommendations did not let us down and ranged from Michelin-starred restaurants to everyday food places locals go to. We loved staying here and we will definitely return if back in Prague!

If you are an early riser, head to Charles Bridge before 10am to avoid the crowds
Be prepared to wander off the beaten track. There are lovely gardens in Mala Strana and around the castle which are usually very peaceful. Petrin Hill is great for walking - it is steep, but there is a great funicular railway if you don't fancy the climb. The view rom here is lovely - and also from Letna Park, by the giant metronome. Stromovka is another nice park where you won't be tripping over other tourists and the area around Vysehrad tends to be quiet too. Prague Castle opens quite early and a ticket will give you entry on 2 days. Buy your ticket early to avoid the queues and give you time to see around everything. If you are an early riser, head to Charles Bridge before 10am to avoid the crowds. May is a great time to visit Prague. It is usually sunny, the cherry blossom is out and there are fewer tourists than in the summer. Avoid July and August when it is hot and crowded if you can.

Get away from Charles Bridge and Old Town, find a little pub tucked away
Leave the tourist areas! Get away from Charles Bridge and Old Town, find a little pub tucked away. Take the tram somewhere and go wandering. If you are in Old Town, check out the Koruna cafeteria (next to Hooters) for some cheap, delicious authentic Czech cuisine. It's where the locals go when they have to be in Old Town.
