Named after the Weaver birds which nest by our entrance gate, Weavers' Cottage is a 100 year old, newly renovated farm cottage. It is set on a 1.5 hectare small holding, within a secure complex, on the outskirts of Gordons Bay. It is the ideal base for exploring the delights of the Western Cape's whale, wine and garden routes. Weavers Cottage is fully equipped for a self catering holiday, although we also provide breakfast on request at an additional charge. It has its own private patio and built in braai/barbeque which is the perfect spot for an alfresco supper after a busy day exploring or enjoying a sundowner before dinner at one of the excellent local restaurants. Please note that the Cottage has two shower rooms but does not have a bath and so may be unsuitable for very young children. As a courtesy to other guests, day visitors are not permitted unless by prior arrangement and we are not a party venue. As we do breed Dobermanns, please be aware that we do have several large dogs on our small-holding. They can be seen and heard from Weavers' Cottage.
Originally from England we have been living in the Western Cape for the last nine years and have recently found ourselves the new owners of an old run-down Cape Dutch farmhouse, where we breed Dobermanns. We are in the process of renovating all the buildings and gardens, so we are still something of a work in progress. But our cottages are ready and waiting for you to come and visit! We can offer you a lovely, homestyle farm cottage and a very warm welcome to our home. We very much look forward to meeting you!
Weavers Cottage is set on a small holding on the outskirts of Gordons Bay. We are not "a stones throw from the beach" or "easy walking distance" to anywhere! But we are about 3km from the main N2 which gives direct access to Gordons Bay (5km) and the rest of the attractions of the Helderberg. The winelands, golf courses, walking and hiking trails, shopping facilities and tourist attractions are all within a short drive. Further afield are the delights of Cape Town (40km), Hermanus (70Km) Franschhoek (68km) and the Garden Route.
