The common areas, such as the inner courtyard garden, are very inviting and adapted to facilitate socialising and getting to know your fellow travellers. A very nice detail is that already upon your arrival your name is hand-written on a little blackboard next to your bed, which makes you feel even more welcome and which makes the contact with your room mates easier. The staff are friendly and helpful, for example to book some activity in Taupo.

Based by the Lake offers accommodation centrally located in Taupo, just minutes from the lake. I enjoyed the location, the dorm, view from there, facilities. All was great
