On Scotland’s far west coast, The Mission Bunkhouse in Mallaig offers simple hostel accommodation right opposite the train station and seconds from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. Staff is friendly and helpful. She provided a lot of local informations. And most importantly, she texted me after we checked out because she found my friend’s phone while cleaning up the room! We really appreciate her help!

Just a few minutes’ walk from Fort Augustus on the edge of Loch Ness, this award-winning lodge offers four-star hostel accommodation with free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. I loved my stay at Morag’s Lodge! The staff was super friendly, the guy at the reception even offered me a different room to the one I had booked so there were other females in it, which I found very attentive. There’s a private bathroom with shower in each room, the kitchen is large, the surroundings beautiful and there’s a lovely bar area to hang out in the evening. It’s perfectly located, a stone’s throw away from Loch Ness and the main street.

Just 10 minutes’ walk from Inverness Rail Station, Inverness Youth Hostel offers free private parking and bicycle storage. Eastgate shopping centre is a 10-minute walk from this hostel. i booked a private room and found that the room and the bathroom are huge and comfortable.

Set in Spean Bridge, 34 km from Glen Nevis, Great Glen Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The location is great. There is a bus stop next to it so it’s very convenient and also there is a departure to follow the Great Glen Way. I bought groceries so I haven’t ordered myself but there is a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything I’ve seen looked delicious.
