This family run place is located in a guarded gate community. Its location is close to the city center and a newly and pleasant developed shopping center. The room is clean and the bed is firm. We were impressed that the gentleman took us to the airport around 1:40am as promised very prompt.

All rooms in the hostel are equipped with a coffee machine. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower and free toiletries, some units at Gardens House, Airport Juan Santamaría, Alajuela, San José also feature a city view. At the accommodation the rooms are fitted with bed linen and towels. I could not recommend this place enough! 😃 The family who runs it have hearts of gold. Upon arriving they helped me organise me work out how to get to my next destination and dropped me off to the bus stop early the next morning. The place is beautiful and homely with lots of chillout places. Would stay here again. Gracias por todos 🥰

Her daughter speaks perfect English and will help you if you want to book any tour. Plus the location is perfect, in the town of Bijagua close by the road to the National park. I strongly recommend!! 😁

We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

The room was super clean (4-bed dorm), albeit no window but the ventilation was great. Very clean and finally a hot shower after showering in cold water for 5 weeks in Costa Rica. There is a small kitchen where you can prep your own food or get their breakfast for $5. Helpful staff, good internet. Would recommend.

The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the common area has games and a ping-pong table, apart from some cute little lizards strolling around the garden. Great hostel!

Jemina is a wonderful person, and does an excellent job. The vibe is super social and I made so many friends here. We shared meals, drinks and so many conversations. The kitchen is super clean and has everything you need. The bed in the dorm was comfy. The whole place was consistently very clean. It's a 10 min walk to town and a 20 min walk to El Salto.
