The house was well equipped, and we even got a nice thank you gift from the host because she was not around to check us in personally because we came later than the check in time. We were also allowed to check out much later than our check out time.

The house was great and so comfortable, at night very quiet and peacefull, really enjoyed the service of the personnel liked to walk the property and see the farm and wild animals roam free

Set on the banks of the Spekboom River, Rivendell Trout Estate offers accommodation 18 km from Lydenburg. Exceptional location. House in a canyon near a small river. We really had the feeling we were all alone in the middle of nowhere (which actually was the case). Accomodation is fully equiped with everything you need, including fire pit and barbecue. When staying for longer period, would recommend to do groceries for multiple days. The closest shop is more than half an hour away. The drive to the property is stunning though. Would recommend to book this place when driving a high wheeled vehicle sice the road has some steep bumps and deep potholes.
