This room was gorgeous. Open your Mediterranean style window shutters into the paradise harbour view in Vela Luka, and feel the lovely breeze into the room, enjoy the incredible free breakfast on the seaside in the morning, comfy and clean amentities, updated furnishings with old town touches, at a great price - what more could you want? HIGHLY recommend staying here as it was our favorite in all of Croatia! The host and staff were absolutely lovely and responsive to everything. Love this place!

If you want to feel and explore Vela Luka with a full local sentiment, the Mara Apartments is the perfect spot to start your journey! The place is run by a local family and Mare, the main host, is extremely friendly and truly helpful! As the place was quite booked (like Vela Luka in general), we used three different rooms during our stay and all were equally good (that's why I'm giving scores three times). The free parking place is a true bonus in a narrowed and crowded place like Vela Luka!

If you want information on what to experience, where to eat, the best beaches, and what to skip, as well as to exchange information with other guests, then Guesthouse Franko is for you. Bruno is a super host who is happy to help you, but above all, he believes in tourism that people co-create. The house is clean and above all friendly. The guests are cultured. They will be happy to talk to you or leave you alone if you don't like it. Above all, the experience will help you navigate the tourist traps. If you're used to the impersonality of a hotel, this is not for you. If you are bothered by dogs, feel free to skip it.
