I didn't realise that it was in a Favela, which required a bit of a climb up steps. A motorbike taxi can take you half way up from the bottom of the hill for 5 Reis, which is an experience in itself. But you need to walk the rest of the way, which only takes a couple of minutes. The room I had was large and clean with a comfortable bed and a cafe table I could put my laptop on. The room even had an epic view of Copacabana through a grove of giant bamboo. Talk about a million-dollar view! The breakfasts were different each day, very tasty and healthy. There was even a cliff-top local salsa/samba party right next door one night. It was fantastic.!
