Kobe is a very nice, spacius and modern city, we anjoyed the NunobikiWaterfall and the fact that you can combine a nature walk/hike in a city vacation. Also the Kobe Animal Kingdome is one of the best zoos we'v been to. Kobe is a great base for a visit in Aarima Onsen

Often overlooked in favour of its neighbour, Osaka, Kobe is an absolute gem of a city. It has a multitude of attractions, from the port and harbourside parks to the wonderful Nunobiki herb garden and hillside hikes on the other side of the city, to the old foreign merchants houses in Kitano Ijinkan-gai and the Motomachi and Sannomiya entertainment and shopping areas, there's a huge amount to see and do in Kobe. We gorged ourselves on amazing food, saw historic houses, enjoyed walking through nature, enjoyed food markets and took a harbourside tour. Bakery RIKI near our accommodation in Motomachi sold the most amazing pastries and Nankin-machi (Chinatown) had a wonderful, crowded, hectic atmosphere with hundreds of stalls selling cheap, absolutely delicious food. We will definitely visit Kobe again.

i travel to kobe for work regularly and usually don't do much sight seeing there; it is easy to find my way around, find restaurants and there is easy access to all sorts of places to visit in the kansai area; once we stayed at the outskirts of kobe, up the mountains, with stunning views of the harbour (private accommodation, sadly gone now) but there are some other nice places to stay in and around the city
Our room had a massage chair and was more spacious than your average Japanese business hotel. Very clean, loved the shower/tub. Elevators and hallways always smelled nice, and the background music wherever you went in the hotel was calming, and a pleasant touch. Absolutely great location, as it is minutes from the station, seconds from shopping.
Breakfast was amazing - Japanese and western choices, with a variety of juices and teas!
1. Convenient (just about 2 minutes walk from Sannomiya station)
2. Hotel design and furnishing are fairly elegant
3. Each floor has an added layer of security, entering from the elevators.
4. Onsen is fairly large, and has both hot and cold pools, which I haven't seen in many hotels in Japan which I've stayed at before.
5. Amenities like toothpaste/toothbrushes, and water dispenser, provided together with the onsen.
One of the staff speaks good English and she is patient to explain everything to us during orientation. Meals are good, esp for dinner it is omakase full of surprises, breakfast is also good. A great experience if you have not tried any onsen hotel in Japan before. The private onsen is good and available easily, I like the effect of the kin water.
I like the authentic Japanese family atmosphere and the close location to the Harbor and Kobe tourist center and Chinatown. It is indeed the best place to be for traveling to Kobe for the first time. I also like that I can leave my luggage at the location early. I like the numerous rooms for option. I love the spacious rooms in Wafuku style.
My room was spacious and well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfasy offers a good selection of Japanese and western item + a great view! There is a public bath and sauna for guests to use, which was a real treat too. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kobe.
Brand new hotel with the highest quality of Japanese hospitality experience. Everything looks great and the bed is very comfortable. All shower amenities are great. Big bath tube with awesome water pressure. WiFi works perfectly. Quiet and nice hotel. Breakfast was delicious and even the coffee quality was surprisingly good.
Room was very clean and nicely laid out. Beds were more or less comfortable (by Japanese standards). Room was quiet, and everything worked as expected. Breakfast was great, very enjoyable experience. You can tell that the Chef and his team put a lot of effort into offering what has to be the best breakfast buffet in Kobe!
Clean.
Good location, close to Shin-Kobe station, and a short walk to Sannomiya station.
Breakfast was taken at the Matsuya restaurant and although there were only 4 options, they were good, with both Japanese and Western options.
Good value at about $250 for 3 nights (including breakfast).
Reception was professional and welcoming. My room was spacious and clean. I also liked that it was across from the train station and atop a McDonald's for a quick snack. The breakfast served was the best I had in an inn/hotel in Japan. The variety and quality of the food excellent.
This was such a great find. We had never been to the Arima area before and we loved our stay here. We splurged and booked the rooms with open air onsens and it was fantastic! Loved having the espresso maker in the room (not standard in Japan) and the open living space.
It is very close to the shin kobe station both the railway and the shinkansen.
The breakfast japanese style was very accommodating to us. They removed meat in the menu and made it relatively nuslim friendly
No laundromat but there is one 10 mins walk away.
Beautiful hotel and spacious bathroom (compared to other Japanese hotels). Big choice amenities - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hairbrush, bath salt, variety of teas and many more. I wish room has an extra square meter, but it was not a big deal.
What I like about the hotel:
1. "gold water" onsen is available right in the hotel.
2. Staffs are super helpful, courteous, respectful and polite (Japanese cultural )
3. Traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner.
4. Very spacious room.
The room is Japanese style tatami room with outdoor hot tub on top of stone. Hot tub is considered large and comfortable. It is not onsen for the hot tub
But this hotel does offer private onsen with private change room for 3300yen.
My favorite part was the onsen. I got to try 3 different baths and it wasn’t crowded at all. Of course the food was also good and the staff was very hospital despite myself not being Japanese. Nice break from the city.
This hotel was the worst hotel we stayed while in Japan, In fact it was so bad we cut our stay short.
It has a bad reputation with the local towns folk.
Extremely disappointed.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.
Staff, especially miss S.Kim, who helped us to book our next hotel since it was available only in Japanese on their home page. Good location, very close to the station.
