First, the staff at the hotel were wonderful. They recommended several restaurants (which we really enjoyed, along with the Lambrusco wine) and helped us with our Italian, which we try to speak. The room was refreshed and cleaned each day. The location was within walking distance of all of the sites. The Ferrari museum was around the corner and as near as the rail station. Both about a 5 minute walk. The Piazza Roma is about a 15 minute walk, and the Piazza Grande about a 20 minute walk, with much to see in the historical city center.
Take advantage of the free parking lot and free Wi-Fi at Hotel Lux. It is close to highway A1 exit, 1.8 miles from the center of Modena. This family-run hotel features modern guest accommodations.

A foodie heaven, affluent Modena is also a petrolhead paradise, as Italy’s most prestigious supercars are crafted in and around the city. The three-pronged Maserati logo proudly marks their Modena headquarters, while a museum in Cittanova to the west houses vintage vehicles.
Lamborghini produce their distinctive V8s in Sant’Agata Bolognese, while the most famous of them all – Ferrari – has turned the nearby town of Maranello red. The church bells even ring every time their F1 team wins!
Enzo Ferrari’s former home is now a Modena museum, while a theatre is named after another famous resident: Luciano Pavarotti. The most famous export is balsamic vinegar and Villa San Donnino offers wonderful tastings, and local tortellini and lambrusco are served up in pavement cafes and bars.
UNESCO World Heritage-listed Piazza Grande is a cobbled square part-lined with the porticoed town hall. Opposite is the 12th-century, white-marble cathedral which is overlooked by the Ghirlandina belltower.
A few streets away, stately Palazzo Ducale is home to the Italian Military Academy, but was once inhabited by the powerful Este family after they fled Ferrara. Some of their Italian art collection is displayed in the Museum Palace, alongside archaeological collections. Nearby Modena accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels and cheap guest houses by the train station.

Cozy feel in the Center—cobblestones, porticos, Mercato Albinelli, Enzo Ferrari Museum, incredible food, particularly Uva d’Oro restaurant (went to dinner there twice as it was so enjoyable) and Sant’Agostino three times for late afternoon aperitivi.

This was a really lovely city with an extensive pedestrian town centre. The Duomo is a highlight, the covered market is charming (it re-opens in the evening with a variety of what seem like pop-up restaurants) and the very grand town hall was worth a visit. You are spoilt for choice for restaurants - we liked Stallo Pomodoro and Da Danilo for dinner- both had outside terraces, and for lunch, Aldina, a very traditional no frills trattoria on the first floor near the market. Blums, a prize-winning gelateria, served the best ice cream I had on this trip.

Really a treat, Modena deserves to be better known.
Really a treat, Modena deserves to be better known. A beautiful and walkable city, with magnificent food, good and variegated shops, and did I mention the magnificent food? The Galleria Estense is an excellent museum (with all information in Italian and English). Opening hours for churches are a bit intransparent (and not always kept), but the city is definitely worth a trip!

A beautiful town not overrun by tourists or tourism, with good restaurants, lovely sites, and extremely well kept buildings. It is easily walkable (no tourist cars in the center). If there was something to avoid, I could not find it.
San Gamenino is a great option if you need a place to rest, sleep and breakfast in a clean, quiet location and get a chance to explore the beautiful town of Modena.
Although the hotel and its furnishings (tiles, furniture) are getting a little elderly, the basics have been refreshed (new paint on the walls, new, clean curtains) and it is perfectly adequate for the moderate price charged.
Breakfast is a definite plus: it is wholesome, complete and beautifullly presented! (eggs, ham, cheese, cereals, cakes, bread, butter, jam, yoghurts...)
The hotel and its room are fantastic. Everything is perectly clean and there is also a beatiful garden in which the guets can spend a very relaxing time.
The hotel is really close to the center of Modena and to the main routes.
The owner, Roberto, is very kind, always available to help his guets.
Moreover, he offered us a free tour of the vinegar factory, part of the property. He explained us very in detail how the original Aceto Balsamico di Modena is made. Really interesting.
We will surely come back to Villa Matildis!
A very nice boutique hotel. very clean The room is modernly designed, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is beautiful. The location of the hotel is excellent - three minutes walk from the center of Modena. The only problem (which really bothered me) is that the room is very small and the closet (which is built in the form of a drawer that opens from the wall) is very useless. Because the wardrobe is not useful we had to leave all the clothes in the suitcases and it was very inconvenient.
This is a good location, not far from the city center. We were in Modena to visit friends who live on the other side of the center. While the bedroom is a bit small, there is also access to the kitchen and a private bath. Interesting artwork and shelves full of fascinating books decorate the bedroom. Breakfast was fine and waiting each morning: yogurt, cereal, fruit and milk. We were able to park our vehicle at our friends' home so parking was not an issue.
Hotel Central Park Modena is a convenient place to stay near the centro. Breakfast is very good, with a wide variety of offerings. It's popular with business travelers. I find it to be a good value for the money when staying in Modena, if you want to be right on the edge of the centro with great walkability, but also plan to be driving around in the campagna.
The apartment is amazing and very clean, the beds were big and the decor is lovely. Elena and Graziano are both amazing and extremely nice. They were very accommodating to what we needed and were excellent. There is a small parking area as well that is gated which made renting a car that much better. A wonderful experience for a quick visit to Modena!
The hotel was beautifully designed, functional and comfortable. The staff were friendly and always eager to assist. Overall it was a wonderful experience for my family and myself. We have book-marked the hotel and will stay here again when we visit Modena again.
Hotel not far from Modena city center, easy to reach from the highway.
A few restaurants in the immediate vicinity which is handy when traveling for business.
The hotel has a private parking lot.
Good breakfast in the morning, I enjoyed it!
Super friendly and kind host Paolo made our stay pleasant and perfect in Modena. The rooms are in great shape and top clean. One big plus is the wall box charger for cars.
Most important: The best breakfast we had in Italy so far.
Breakfast was good, eggs, fruits, bread, cereals, etc. water, juices and coffee. Location was close to sport place: Palazzo dello Sport Palapanini. Newly renovated entrance with tables and chairs. Parking in front of Hotel.
Very good communication from our host Paride prior to arrival and he helped us with tips about driving and parking in Modena City centre.Large room. Modern bathroom. Breakfast available if required.
Deluxe room OK. Not sure for the other ones. Location 10-15 min walk from Modena downtown. Good breakfast. Good cleanliness of room. Free parking in front of hotel. Quiet area. Good value for money.
The hotel was near the center of Modena. Around 30min walk, which is amazing. The location is good, everything was really quiet. The room had a unique vibe to it in a good way. 😊
Fantastic location, loved the bnb self-service model! Nice rooms, way better than some 4-star hotels at which I previously stayed in Modena. I will definitely stay here again.
Everything was perfect. Mr Paolo is very is very caring and kind. every detail in the accommodation is brought to perfection. A wonderful weekend in Modena. Thank you:)
Sergio was very friendly and prompt in responding to our messages
He went above and beyond making sure everything was good
