We had a wonderful stay in Saint Jacob Hotel. Samer and Shabeeb were very warm and friendly. They even helped us talk to the car rental company as we don’t understand the local language. The room was well decorated and very comfortable. And the hotel was very close to the tourism places (such as churches of annunciation) and good restaurants. Highly recommended!!

We were told breakfast is between 07:00-09:30 am. As we were in the breakfast at 08:00 am, we were told breakfast will not be served as it was untill 07:30 am. We were told groups had breakfast at 07:00am. But we are indiviual travllers. Finally they agreed on servig breakfast.
One plate of sweet cakes- one plate of greasy omlette and and one plate with sliced bread and butter... that was it... When i took the slice of bread, it was all in blue mould... sure it was many days old. When i warned the waiter about it, no words of apoligy. and he brought a new plate with newly sliced bread. It was horrible experience. Later during the cheeck out, i have mentioned about our frustration among other things. Receptionist with such a cool face; "next door is a bakery, go and eat fromm our house"... Increadible... Bakery next door has bread and sweets nothing else and no word of sympathy...

A Great Old City that kept its charm through- out the years.
A Great Old City that kept its charm through- out the years. Arabic & Hebrew Languages are widely spoken making an outstanding mix of a cultural Mélange while Christians live proudly in their land of annunciation.
I liked the old Souq with the Gold and the carpenters' shop along the way, the old schools and hills overlooking the calm city. Best Food experience was at Al-Reda Caffe & Restaurant.

Cute little city perched on top and on the side of a hill.
Cute little city perched on top and on the side of a hill. Great for Christian pilgrimage purposes. Very tiny roads within and near the old city. Parking is a big problem. There are however private parking spaces but very expensive fees.

Very busy street traffic thankfully not near our hostel.
Very busy street traffic thankfully not near our hostel. Dirty streets and lots of stray cats ripping into dustbins and strewn rubbish. Interseting to visit the Church of the Annunciation, Mary's Well and the Orthodox Church of the Annunciation but Nazareth seemed like a place that only needs a very brief viist. As we found so many other wonderful places in Israel we would recommend only a very quick visit into Nazareth.
Had a really good meal in the Tishreen.rest.co.il on St Marys Well 56 St.

Nazareth is a great option for travelers who prefer a laidback stay in Israel. The city's rich history can be seen through its churches and old market. It is also a great start if you are a Christian and is interested on the earlier life of Jesus since Canaan and Capernaum are a 30-45 minutes travel by car. The only downside of the city is the traffic especially in the center because of the narrow streets and the driving discipline of the locals.

1. The city itself is a nightmare to drive: roads are barely wide enough for two-way-traffic - the locals park along the roads so you're forced to wait/play chicken with oncoming traffic - also are an up-and-down- roller-coaster (Nazareth is on hills) with innumerable speed-bumps. If you don't drive Israeli-style (aggressive) you'll never get anywhere.
So HIGHLY recommend you get to where you're going and then park your car (MAKE SURE you drive a compact - the side-roads only accommodate very-small-cars and it's one-way-traffic with hairpin turns to get to most BnB's). Do your sightseeing on-foot using local buses/taxi.
Finally ... ENSURE the place you're renting has parking for you!!!
2. Church staff can be rude (which surprised me ... had a priest who spoke English with an American accent blow-me-off when I greeted him with a "Good Morning"). I was raised Roman-Catholic ... the priests I remember were always friendly and considerate.
3. Locals are very friendly and helpful (we did not encounter so much as one rude person - all were helpful).
4. Be careful what you pay for something from the street vendors (we paid 40 Shekels for two large pomegranate drinks and a few blocks later were offered the exact-same-sized-two-each drinks for 20 Shekels).
5. Food is good and some may find it a little expensive but I would say no ... we had a spread for four of us (big platter of barbecued/smoked lamb - innumerable plates of different salads/vegetables/different sauces & dips - baskets of their falavale (probably spelling that wrong) bread - 6 beers for roughly $120).
Al Bishara has an exceptional location right in the old city, within walking distance of all the tourist destinations. The owner and host is friendly, gracious and kind. Our room was clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed and there is a balcony at the end of the entrance foyer with a lovely view of the town. The owner prepared an amazing, delicious breakfast for us that agve us a great start to our day. It would be hard to find a better and nicer place to stay in Nazareth. We highly recommend Al Bishara.
Our host, Khalil, was very helpful and friendly. He was also very easy to contact when there was a question. The apartment was also very conveniently located and it was possible to walk to most of the sites in Nazareth. We had a beautiful kitchen which enabled us to cook meals made with local meat and produce. There were produce stores, butcher shops and a fish market within easy walking distance.
We stayed here 2 nights. Everything was perfect.
Excellent location, 10 minutes’ walk to the old city of Nazareth. Good breakfast with homemade Pitta with Zaatar. Parking nearby (100m uphill) . The owner of the hotel – Angel is charming and very welcoming.
The room was little small but you do not come to Nazareth to stay in your room.
Highly Recommended.
The best experience of Nazareth was the helpfulness of the owner, he is such a terrific guy! Always available to give information and to satisfy my requests. He deserves a particular mention. The property is right in the old city, close to all attractions and amenities. A very nice breakfast is served on the terrace.
Building with cool atmosphere in the center of the old city of Nazareth, a minute's walk from the food areas, the market, the big church (annunciation). The beds were clean, the owner was helpful and attentive. Not everything is perfect, but there is a very good value for the price.
What a lovely hospitality! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The place itself is beautiful, well maintained and conveys the unique vibe of Nazareth. Location is also great, nearby the main touristic attractions and wonderful restaurants and bakeries.
The hotel was beautiful and was very nicely renovated with a perfect view of the city from the terrace. The place permeated warmth. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I received exceptional hospitality. I felt this was the best place in Nazareth.
Everything was great...location, old house with a museum, roof terrace where we had a cup of tea with a beautiful view on the whole Nazareth. Hosts are so helpful...where to go, what to see.
Thank you very much and hope to come back again.
The property is very modern, well equipped with a beautiful view of the city. The host was extremely attentive and kind. The breakfast was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about this property. This was our best stay in Israel.
A lovely cozy hotel with friendly and warm staff. The rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable! Very well equipped rooms that were well decorated. The location is awesome and we felt totally at home here. Would highly recommend it!
I was lost and the taxi driver drop me and left and send the picture of the location and the owner of the place come to pick me, he was very kind good heart person. I’ll love to meet him again when next time I’ll come to Nazareth
Yakoub is wonderful! He helped us find our way around Nazareth, chatted with us, made sure we felt very welcome! The Coffee and homemade cake on arrival and in the morning was lovely! Parking on site very convenient.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable.
The staff was super friendly.
We got lucky with street parking right outside the hotel.
Breakfast was great despite Corona limitations.
The house is very beautiful, near the town center made in antique style. The place is very peaceful and there’s big balcony on the top of the roof with amazing view on Nazareth. I really enjoyed.
The location is amazing. It's just a short 10 minutes walk down to the city center and you have a great view over Nazareth. Everything was very clean and we got a warm welcome.
The owner is a real gentleman and good story teller from an old Nazareth family.
Perfect location in the old city. Parking lot of the linked Michel house is very effective.
Our second time at the hotel. The staff is very kind, the room is big and clean. Breakfast varied and tasty. Pool and jacuzzi are excellent. Highly recommended!
