Hotel is exceptional. The artefacts are something to behold. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble.

After a long day walking alone, the host welcomed me at the gate with a hug…i immediately felt home.
The view was fantastic.
The room, as the house in general is newly renovated and fresh.
In the daytime i received an sms from the host notifying about the dinner situation. As there are no places to eat in the neibourhood. I valued it a lot!
Host provided tasty and simple breakfast.
Also saw in the kitchen a pasta and a red sauce ( back up plan for the dinner) for very hungry travels. Those detailes are very important.

Nice old world type of resort very Spanish and authentic Spanish fishing village / small town with a nice harbour and old town area. On the Camino trail so lots of walking routes plus Mt Tecla to view the area from the top.

An unexpectedly attractive town with beautiful harbour and nearby mountain. Lanes often steep and narrow so car driving tricky but possible. Plenty of restaurants and a bakery offering very good breakfasts. A walk up to the castle above the town was enjoyable.

A little disappointed by the recommended Porto Guardes café...
A little disappointed by the recommended Porto Guardes café on the harbour because they didn't serve food till 7.15 pm & the salad was mainly out of a jar, i.e. white asparagus, sweet red peppers, an onion garnish on the boiled potatoes. Would have been better to have a fresh salad. However, the pimientos Padron & the Galician octopus were excellent.
The two mile walk from my hostel to the harbour was wonderful & quiet.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights while walking a comino through A Guarda. Every element of our stay from check in to leaving was a pleasant experience. The Bookings pictures don't capture the tidiness of the apartment or the fantastic view of the harbour and waterside town. Very quiet at night, no problem sleeping with windows open, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen for 2 people. Great value if spending more than 1 night. Being non- Spanish speakers, sincere thanks to the lady that checked us in and out - she was very patient.
My stay at the apartment couldn’t have been more pleasant. The photos don’t do this magical place justice. There is a lot of space and everything was in perfect condition. The owners were generous and helpful throughout and we are already planning on staying there again!
Some advice if you are looking to stay there, the address doesn't work properly on Google maps and Uber doesn't function in the area so go to the Taxi stop outside Froiz supermarket in A Guarda and ask a taxi driver to take you to the address.
The owner was incredible to attend to us and make our check in smooth and easy. The room was perfect for our stay during the Camino. The next day, breakfast was great and check out was very easy. They allowed our bag-transfer company to drop off and pick up with ease. We would stay here again if we visit A Guarda again.
P.S. when we arrived the front desk was closed. If this happens to you fear not! Just message the property and the owner will arrive very quickly!
Location was incredible - totally worth the 30 minute walk from the port to get there!
Rooms are not super upgraded but that adds to the charm.
Hotel staff was amazing and so super helpful! 5 stars for the over the top effort of both of the people working the front desk during my stay.
The whole place is reminiscent of family resorts from the 50s with a luxury dining area, lovely patio restaurant, and nice rooms with comfy beds, all right on the beach.
Very comfortable mattresses and pillows - with proper duvets too! The hotel is very unique as it is an old convent converted. Staff are friendly and helpful. The shower is amazing. Breakfast was free and locally sourced, and it is lovely to eat it in the courtyard. Location is perfect: right on the harbour and near a string of restaurants. TV in the room, along with towels and toiletries.
The view from the hotel and surrounds is stunning! We could see the coast of Portugal from where we had walked on the Camino Portuguese Coastal route. The room was spacious and clean and the area was quiet. Staff were helpful, especially when getting a taxi to go down the mountain. Overall this hotel is great value for money.
It's the first time I ever gave the hotel 10. The rooms are very clean, fresh and nicely looking. Exceptional value for the price. The owner was super nice, gave the overview of the city, suggested what to visit and genuinely was trying to help with anything. The breakfast was customized per request.
+ Great value hotel + clean rooms + good size room + excellent working shower + modern design + excellent quality sleep + breakfast was great for this type hotel.
- Staff could be more friendly.
In general, the stay was perfect and simply had a fantastic rest over the one night stay.
What an amazing hotel. A former convent that is now a hotel (with an attached church) and artifacts, and artwork throughout. The doors are spectacular. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and it’s very well located near the port.
What a perfect place to spend a few days. Super little apartment fully equipped
Great garden with sun all day
Parking right at the door
And a great place to get around La Guarda
A really good spot for walking and cycling
The hotel itself was very nice and lovely. The staff was very nice and helpful as well as attentive. I highly recommend this place to stay. It is very well located and easy to access.
