The room was comfortable and functional. As a single person there for work is was perfectly acceptable. There was also a huge amount of space around the reception area either to work or relax.
Pool and sauna were a fantastic option to have after a busy day.
Along the E45 and 6 km from the city centre is the Scandic Kolding Hotel. The Legoland Theme Park and Billund Airport are only 35 km away.

The staff was friendly and welcoming.
The hotel has a fitness room, playing room for kids and sitting areas for parents.
I highly recommend it.

There was a great restaurant across the square from the hotel, next to the station building. The Pizza was especially good.
There was free parking in the station carpark around 100m away from the hotel and what looked like a number of other free parking opportunities in the area.

Lovely little town with a variety of old buildings, small streets, lovely park areas and good choices of food outlets. Ate at the Ristorante Fratelli across the street from the hotel. Excellent ! ! Easy to walk around to town.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag.
Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag. We stayed for 2 nights and used it as a base to travel to Legoland and other parts of Jutland. The drive into Kolding was slow due to traffic, and finding parking next to the hotel was tricky with the different duration rules, but then settled on parking in the hotel itself. In the evening, around 7ish, the area around the castle felt very quiet, too quiet. There were restaurants open but it did not feel lively, though this may have been because it was mid April.
A nice stop was at the StorCentre shopping centre. Plenty more people here, lots of shops and lots of food opens. Restaurants seem to stay open longer here than the rest of denmark in general.
All in all not a bad stay, definitely needed more time to explore.

Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake.
Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake. Good starting point for a daytrip to other sights in Denmark such as Ribe (viking town), Legoland (less then 1 hour drive), Kopenhagen (2.5 hours), Bogense (50 mins).
Only a view minutes from the lake you have several sushi bars, pizza takeaways, thai restaurant, fine dining, supermarket and a passage with pubs. There is also a wonderful botanical garden with petting zoo (goats), rose garden and a miniture of the town of Kolding to walk through.

Kolding is a nice town with a good history.
Kolding is a nice town with a good history. The viking castle in the middle of the town is obviously a main attraction, but if you look further you'll find a toy-museum downtown, and if you venture a little outside of the center, you'll find the Trapholt museum, which is very modern and progressive. Kolding also has an amazing graffiti-culture which really shines when you walk around downtown.
If you're looking for lunch, go to either Tobber's or The Mokka Café, and if you rather fancy a burger the only place you need to go is the Burger Spot.
If you're looking for dinner, you can have dinner at the restaurant in the viking castle. It's one of the best restaurants in Kolding. A bit pricey, but worth it. Otherwise, downtown you'll find Rafael's Ristorante, and if you're not in the mood for Italian, you can skip down to Hereford Beefstouw.
If you want to hit the town for a beer in the evening, there are three quality places to look for. If you're looking for the young crowd you need to go to Knud's Garage. For a more adult crowd seek out the You'll Never Walk Alone pub (this is also the place to go if you're looking for a sports-pub). Finally, if you're more of a nightclub kinda person, Pitstop is the best in Kolding.
For Danish prices, I would say this was great value for money, if you travel by car. Pretty big room. The breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely stay here again! I booked this place, because I had stayed at Scandic hotels before and I knew they provide a certain standard, regardless of the number of stars and I was not disappointed. Staff was very nice, especially a younger blond girl (did not catch the name), who was working the breakfast and a lady (I would assume of Asian heritage), who was in charge of the check in Friday evening.
The apartment was really nice and cozy, loved the big windows, and the blinds even more for privacy, it had a really great view.
The free parking right outside the appartment, was highly appreciated.
The location was PERFECT, right next to the lake completly filled with swans, and in the center of Kolding. It was a really quick walk to get to the resturents and cafe's.
I would definitely come back again.
Very nice and luxurious apartment in the old city centre of Kolding. Lots of cafés and eateries around, but still quiet at night. Well equiped kitchen. Very clean; nice beds and bedding; luxury bathroom. Balcony and terraces looked lovely, but wind and rain spoiled the opportunity. Room service available from the restaurant below, where you can pick up your key from the helpful staff
The location is right opposite the train station. It is walkable to many attractions. The bus stops are nearby too.
The hotel provides drinks and slurpy at the ground floor. The breakfast is sumptuous too.
The room is big enough for a solo traveller like me. After checked-out, i can still sit at the lobby and have a cup of tea.
Walking distance to Koldinghus, park and downtown Kolding. Easy accessible by car (paid undergroud parking) to explore sights around Jutland. Legoland (35m), Arhus and Odense (1h), Jelling (30m) are close by. Good breakfast and friendly staff make it worth your stay.
Transported to a serene and calm location. The surroundings are stunning, located in Kolding Fjord.
The hotel itself, is grand without being pretentious. Double Rooms hugely spacious.
I used for a business trip, but will come back with partner.
The house was so beautiful! I love the stay in kolding, house was very nice clean, comfy beds, heating was very good and kitchen was full of kitchen utensils and all needed for cooking i have a amazing time I enjoyed my short getaway;)
The only positive thing I can say: The Kolding hotel, which I was given as an alternative, is very good and extremely well located, right in the center of Kolding. When I return to Kolding I have no doubt I will stay there again.
The owner was very kind and friendly. She told me the shortest way to the hotel from the station when I told her my arrival time. It was really helpful because I had big baggages and it was raining when I arrived at the station.
Nice place to stay in Kolding at your own, apartment is in the same building from the owner but you have 100% privacy.
Kitchen have everything that you need and everything worked perfectly.
The parking is OK, and the breakfast was not too bad, although there was not enough room for everyone to sit (and the restaurant next door has plenty of space but was not allowed).
Huge apartments, a lot of room. A lovely breakfast and very helpful staff. A beautiful location by the lake and in the centre of Kolding, very easy access everywhere.
New and modern hotel, opposite of the train station, directly in the city center. Very nice rooms with huge windows, not „hygge“ but stylish and modern.
