Ideally set behind the hotel which provided privacy and quiet. Easy access to the hotel for meals and drinks.
The interior was obviously almost brand new with a total replacement.

Gundaroo is a very small rural town near Canberra, with several heritage listed properties. There is a 4 and a half star restaurant and a pub which dates back to 1872. We ate at the pub which has very good pub food and plenty of friendly locals to have a chat with. Gundaroo is best experienced by walking around. Everything is accessible from Gundaroo Manor on foot.

Gundaroo is a very small heritage village.
Gundaroo is a very small heritage village. Facilities are limited. Eating out is limited to 3 locations plus the small village store/post office does take away. The 3 eateries are only open Thursday to Sunday. Self catering requires a round trip of approx 90 kms to a decent grocery outlet. As we were planning to visit Canberra's attractions during our 6 night stay this involved a fair amount of travelling. However the accommodation could not be faulted.

Our stay was too short.
As we had to pick up wonky donkeys and head back to Victoria.
But planning to go back and stay longer.
Food great .
And also the best pizzas are just across the road.

It's a small town, so it should be expected that things are not open on a public holiday but it was still a surprise, the local shop didn't open until 10am. Luckily we had a good breakfast at our accommodation.

Gundaroo is a lovely quaint historic town with a few excellent restaurants including the local pub. We stayed overnight and totally enjoyed the whole Gundaroo experience.
We dined at the local pub which was fun as it was footy night so we joined in with the locals and had a great night. Grazing Restaurant was unfortunately closed otherwise we would had reserved a table for lunch.
