Hutchins, TX appears to be a suburb city south of the busy "beltway" of Dallas. Mainly a residential/business area, it seemed to lack upscale restaurants other than "fast food" establishments. Driving around the immediate area, we could find no "attractions" for out-of-town visitors like movie theatre, museums, parks, etc. That said, Hutchins was a great place to "hop" to/from Fort Worth, Dallas, and Ennis where we watched the total solar eclipse.

Hotel somewhat outdated, the elevator wasn’t working when we arrived and the stairs were dirty and smelled like orine. In the room, the beds were uncomfortable, the lighting was poor, the room smelled so strongly of tobacco that was nauseating and they tried to covered it up with some product so strong that it burned our nose and throat, the product smelled to strawberries, it was intoxicating. The carpet was dirty, like dusty. The shower was okay, not much pressure, but we were in the 4th floor. The area is patchy and somewhat scary and it felt not safe during the night, not a for families. Not good value!
