Khao Lak is the area for people who are after chill vibe on beautiful beaches! During the season there are very unique trips to beautiful areas like the Similian Islands, Surin, khao Sok is very close so it's perfectly located. You can find very luxurious hotels, and budget ones, the beaches are amazing and as i said- the feeling of havong a lot of space in general is still here... vs. areas like Phuket...ShiraIsrael - 8.0Scored 8.0

We stayed at the beginning of low season, so things seemed to be winding down a bit. It's an area that is thankfully much quieter and less visited by the newer kind of tourist now common elsewhere. Go there before it becomes over developed with boring and expensive resorts.

Highlights were the beautiful beaches nearby especially white sands beach as well as the great shopping everywhere. But best of all was the trip to Similian islands where I swam with a turtle. Good for relaxation, not animated and crowded as Phuket. So it depends what you are looking for. Many beautiful beaches, not crowded, natural parks near by, good food. Elephant sanctuary, trips to the islands.

Khao Lak is certainly less bussier than Phuket but nevertheless we stayed at the Mukdara Beach Hotel where there were many many restaurants, bars, night markets, shops, massage places and tourist offices around. If you look for a nice quiet beach but with some action and fun around, Khao Lak is certainly a place to go. We went there in March and did not have any jelly fishes, whereas in Ao Nang, Island hopping tours there, Phuket there were jelly fishes as it was the season in MarchMonikaSwitzerland - 8.0Scored 8.0

A lovely relaxed little town with so many beaches with in driving distance and a couple within walking distance, and lots of bars markets and restaurants. If your into vegan food , I can't rate beyond the root vegan food highly enough, absolutely delicious 😋

The main swimming pools are perfect for family with kids, and for those who want to chill out on the beach, you can enjoy your happy hour drinks at the adult pool. I think this hotel is good for both short stay and long stay.

The Blue Lagoon honestly felt different in almost every respect. It is a family run hotel with excellent facilities, caring staff, and an incredibly picturesque setting. We stayed in Karon Beach and in another Khao Lak hotel - both 4-5 star hotels - but we sincerely wished that we had stayed here the entire time. Breakfast is great, pool is excellent, and the beach is literally 10 metres from the hotel.

Fon was very helpful with every request and even managed to secure us spots on the beach with another firendly hotel. The cleaning was on a very high level which is highly appreciated after bringing some sand from the beach to the room. Overall amazing stay in a modern villa.

Bas even gave us a great transfer to our next Hotel in Khao Lak and showed us the temple nearby. The Hotel is also very nice. Nights are quiet, during the day you can chill at the pool. Everything is super clean. The rooms are comfortable and large. We would come here again!
