We stayed in a floating room. Although there is a plaque saying it dates from 1904 the barge itself is covered over and all that remains in a couple of sumptuous large rooms fitted with an enormous bed. The hotel itself is quirky and in great condition. We loved it. Top tip - give yourself some time to mooch around the hotel and the environs, it's exceptional.

Everything about this stunning place was fantastic. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was brilliant. They look after their guests and the environment. An absolute 12 out of 10. So far one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in in the world. Kudos to the staff especially the girl that worked in the restaurant ( the girl from Singapore).
This hotel features a wellness centre including an indoor pool, gym and sauna on the 14th-floor. There is also a modern restaurant which serves international cuisine and has a sun terrace.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely B&B.
Sjoerd has done an amazing job in outfitting the rooms in Art Deco style and making them very comfortable in the process.
The check in process was very smooth and we were delighted to discover how tastefully the rooms were decorated and how generously they were made ready for us.
The range and quantity of the included food and drink was very generous, the bed was very comfortable, there were toiletries and slippers.
Much thought had been involved in fitting out the rooms.
Sjoerd is a generous, thoughtful and responsive host.
As many said, breakfast is cheap. Factory cheese and bread.
As many said, breakfast is cheap. Factory cheese and bread. Pastorised juice..
I checked back the photos because I never would pick such a location. Found out that the breakfast on the photo’s is not the same at all.
- bread from bakery
- rich fruit selection
- more than one cheese
- fresh juice

The manager was extremely condescending.
The manager was extremely condescending. He acted as if he was doing me a favor by staying in his hotel. The hotel has a gate with a bell yo ring but the bell is not easily found after dark so yes I waited 30 minutes outside ringing the bell and no one opened the gate until a car and the gate opened. The manager blamed my incompetence. The manager refused to give me his name when I checked out but I could identify him by photo. Horrible experience thinking I would stay ocked out of hotel at 10 pm

We used to live in Dordrecht so it always feels like our second home. It's a lovely old own with plenty of unique shops, relaxing cafes, museums and nice walks around the canals.
It is on the main train line from Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam so it's easy to do day trips to these places.
You can also take the water ferry to Rotterdam and various other places from Dordrecht.

Surprised how unspoilt and picturesque Dordrecht was.
Surprised how unspoilt and picturesque Dordrecht was. It's not set up for tourism, though they are used to people from out of town with all the boats in the marina. Lots of cafes, and a few good places to eat. Close to Kinderdijk with the windmills. We stayed overnight on a stop over, but could of spent a couple of nights there, though probably not much longer than that.

Stayed in Dordrecht for the Dordt in stoom festival and it was wonderful and we will be back if we can ! The old town is pretty and the steam boats provided a great atmosphere in the old port. The only problem we had was that some places - like the tourist office and ticket booths - did not take either visa or mastercard - luckily we manged to get cash out but would have been in trouble over the weekend if this had not worked.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at B&B Bommelsteijn, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the owner”Sebastiaan “went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The cozy accommodations, coupled with exceptional service, made my stay truly memorable. The hotel’s prime location made exploring the city a breeze, and I can’t wait to return to B&B Bommelsteijn on my next visit. Highly recommended!
From the initial contact to the goodbyes, we were made to feel most welcome and comfortable. The spacious, airy room, access to the delightful garden and a kitchenette were ideal for our time in and around Dordrecht. Lots of thoughtful, personal touches and a fantastic breakfast (far more than we're used to) all contributed to a very happy stay in a lovely town. Many thanks to Letty and Cor, and I hope we meet again.
This is a great location, just steps from the Groothoofds Gate The flat is well-appointed and. Dry quiet. It’s great to have a kitchen so that you don’t need to eat out for all meals. Kristen was super responsive when I forgot the code to get into the flat 😊. I hope this is available next time I’m in Dordrecht because I would like very much to stay there again.
I fell in love with Villa Augustus the moment I saw it and spending the night in the penthouse/lighthouse has been my dream since. I loved the paintings on the walls, the quirky design of every floor and room, the merchandise and the market, the plants and the greenhouses. All in all it was absolutely magical and I am coming back for sure.
Lovely hotel. Near busy roads but we were not disturbed by this. Quite a way out of Dortrecht itself so we did not go into the centre. (We were travelling by bicycle). Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and an excellent choice for breakfast, including catering for my gluten free requirements. Would highly recommend.
Very much enjoyed the stay in this historic house located in a very beautiful and interesting part of Dordrecht. Very comfortable stay, good home made breakfasts and fantastic hosts who went above and beyond. We left city understanding why some of the houses lean forward and the locals are called sheep heads. Highly recommended.
Jeannette and her husband even picked us up at the station. They were lovely!! What a find! The best view in the city, I wish we could've stayed longer! This is one of the best locations if not the very best location to stay at in DORDRECHT! The antique building with the best modern-day amenities one can ask for. 10+
The staff made this a wonderful place to stay. All of the staff we encountered were just the best. For example, we brought our 6-year old (a very picky eater), and they were so accommodating in helping us find something for him to eat. The hotel is also very clean.
The owner is so nice and friendly. Pinged me regularly to see if I need some something or help. The room is exceptional clean, even better than quite some hotels. The location is great: next to a supermarket and a few restaurant. Close to the train station.
A lovely old hotel, with kind and friendly day-time staff, a garden with a 300-year-old chestnut tree and a slightly younger red beech, a comfortable, ground-floor room with attentive little details.
Fantastic location and gorgeous view of the cathedral! Only 20 min to Kinderdijk and Rotterdam. Dordrecht itself was a lovely spot. Host was very helpful and friendly!
The place is value for your vacation. If you have rent a car, this is also recommended for your business trip, because hotel in the central of city is very expensive.
i did not received my invoice for my stay and send an email to get it the answer from booking was: please ask hotel bastion directly but bastion did not answered
Simple family run hotel with clean rooms, nice garden and breakfast included. IN an old building not to for away from the stations and close to the city centre
I recommend Villa Augustus to everyone. The room is quite big and with a nice decoration. It is quiet, and the bed, mattress and pillows are very comfortable.
