The Golden Acorn Wetherspoon, hotel in Kirkcaldy

Located in Glenrothes, The Golden Acorn Wetherspoon features a garden, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel has family rooms.

The room was very comfortable and for me had the advantage to have windows that open, on the forth floor just around the corner from the lift I could not hear. I booked on booking.com and found the cost a little high but it was a saturday night in june... however the property offered me a very good rate when I decided to stay on the sunday night. The room was quiet and fresh and the bed excellent. The bathroom adequate but I did not like the clingy plastic curtain in the shower. I dont expect they can dip clean those between customers and the thinking that this curtain would have touched someone else's body the night before was not to my liking. The staff was really useful and so friendly and very helpful indeed. I had diner there on sunday after teaching all day and it was ok although not expensive. I had quick breakfast there on both days. Porridge was glorious but the egg dishes on the second day not that terrific I would not have this again. The location was amazing and easy to find, the parking such a great thing specially with an overflow I could use on the saturday night when it was obvious that everyone in town was in the pub below the hotel and had used the carpark before I arrived. Overall I would go back off course I would just not use the food option.

Helpful, attentive staff made a short stay very comfortable. When I brought an issue with my dinner to their attention the staff didn't quibble but immediately removed the item from by bill and offered an alternative or replacement.

We were there to attend an event and to conduct some family history research in the excellent facilities provided by Kirkcaldy Library and Museum. The town itself is looking good, certainly in the area round Victoria Road.

Kirkcaldy is a good place for access to Edinburgh, Fife and...

Kirkcaldy is a good place for access to Edinburgh, Fife and The East Neuk. It has its own charm, but the town centre is quite run down. Take the bus to the nearby beaches, or right up to the beautiful villages of East Neuk. There are a couple of good curry houses on the High Street, I liked The Prince especially. The older streets away from the High Street and the Parks are quite lovely, and the museum and gallery are good.

Visited the gallery/museum which was located near our hotel.

Visited the gallery/museum which was located near our hotel. This was a hidden gem as the pictures on display were very good as was the museum which had sections dedicated to the past linoleum industry and mining communities. Fascinating. Kirkcaldy has a full range of shops available as well as a modernised sea promenade. All in all found Kirkcaldy a very enjoyable place to visit and wished we had spent more time there!

The best thing about Kirkcaldy is going to see the seals.

The best thing about Kirkcaldy is going to see the seals. Ask at your hotel how to see them. Need to be able to walk about 20 mins. They are nearly always there . Easy to get train in and out of Edinburgh. If you like walking or biking. Fife coastal path is lovely. Can walk between stations and get train back

We came to visit Kirkcaldy gallery for the Vettriano exhibition. The gallery was lovely with a cafe with decent coffee, museum and gallery shop. We had travelled from Glastonbury for this exhibition and stopped in York on the way up. Kirkcaldy is not very pretty overall, the seafront felt quite industrial but we found a good fish and chips shop called Rinaldis and all the local people were friendly.

Polite, friendly and professional staff in all areas. Clean, comfortable and very modern hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and we had a large modern shower room. Varied breakfast menu in a nicely decorated dining room. Lovely public areas and set in well kept grounds. Plenty of car parking spaces. The location is very peaceful yet a few minutes to connect to motorway by car. A large retail park is located a few minutes walk away. Kirkcaldy town centre is a short drive away. Would recommend Dean Park Hotel to friends and family.

Room has been upgraded since my last visit. Clean and comfortable. Lovely hot shower in the morning and a fantastic breakfast that was included in the price. I can see why many people choose this hotel. On my infrequent visits to Kirkcaldy this is usually my No 1 choice for places to stay. It's very central for public transport and all facilities in the town. Its a very well-run hotel.

The staff were absolutely amazing, accommodating and sweet. Restaurant was amazing, can’t say enough good things about it. Carpets were so thick you never heard anyone in the hallways, North American hotels take note! Perfect hotel to visit Edinburgh, 1/2 hour train ride to get away from the hustle bustle.

A really comfortable hotel that is bicycle friendly. We are bike packers and they allowed us to keep our bicycles secure in an unused conference room. We had a really nice meal in the restaurant and a really generous breakfast the following morning.
