A hidden gem. Looks tatty from the outside but rooms are clean and spacious. Evening meal was truly excellent. New chef about a year ago apparently and his menu is excellent. Breakfast is very basic but OK (obviously without the chef!). Very reasonably priced and nice gardens and stream opposite for a stroll with/without a dog.

First and foremost, the size of the apartment was impressive. The well-designed layout ensured that each area of the apartment felt distinct and functional, making it a suitable choice for families or small groups. However, the only drawback I encountered during my time in the apartment was the temperature. Unfortunately, the heating system seemed to be inadequate, resulting in a chilly atmosphere.

Nice location between Clermont Ferrand and the volcans. Cozy place, equipped kitchen. The host, Pierre, is very helpful and responsive. There is also a nice promenade with a river at 5 min walk closeby, which our kids loved.

Royat is an interesting spa with several establishments...
Royat is an interesting spa with several establishments offering various water therapy. There is an excellent bus service throughout the town, with connections to Le Puy de Dome (a MUST-SEE) and Clermont-Ferrand. It is close to supermarkets, gas stations. There are many charming villages, abbeys, interesting drives around the volcanic landscape. One week is hardly enough.

Just a short bus ride from Clermont-Ferrand, it is actually much prettier. Everything is built on the hillside so the scenery is beautiful. There are restaurants with terraces with the most amazing views and it is a great jumping off point to get out to the hills and lakes. There is an excellent coffee shop Le Cintra by the supermarket , just by the car park and park. Highly recommend it for your morning coffee or for a charcuterie plate with a glass of wine, or a digestif on your way home.

The area is very nice and scenic and there is a big, free, parking lot nearby which can support most kinds of cars. Everything was clean, the staff are very friendly (English is limited, but you'll get on fine with even the most basic French) and the breakfast and dinner options (they have a restaurant with an evening meal) is excellent.JustinGermany

Interesting facade to the hotel, there was a lift to all floors and the room was clean and tidy with a large comfortable bed. Perfect for us. It was a Sunday so finally found dinner in the casino which was open. Parking was outside the hotel with limited private parking near the hotel. It was located very close to the Royatonic establishment for going to the thermal pools and saunas, etc… The staff were all very friendly and polite and went out of their way to help me with my questions, etc.. The breakfast was served each morning in the dining room, and I chose to have dinner there as well for a couple of evenings.
