We stayed 2 nights in Cholet. first night, we had a short visit in the town centre. 2nd day, Puy du Fou for the full day, a Must See. on the way back we visited the splendid Parc of Maulévrier, the biggest Japanese parc in Europe.

We loved it all and was just the perfect amount of time.We crammed in a lot in those 3 days! Would definitely recommend Cholet!! Le Miel was a quaint little food area , they had homemade baked goods.Staff were amazing even for my French language . L'ecalier bistro iode (Cholet ) was just AAAAAhhhhhhmmmmmaaaaazzzzing !!! Food was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious and just the right amount as we had fine dining like that.Portions you'd think for any Canadian would be small but you got to savour all of the Chefs flavour in it all .Definitely recommend this bistro to everyone !! Good centre for visiting the local region, vineyards & chateaus. Good shopping available, many locally owned shops with fewer larger chains in the town centre than many other places. Some local undiscovered restraunts are excellent and very reasonable, Le Romarin, near the railway station, and Le Pouce Pied our favourites.

Enormous shower with fresh towels daily even though it was only a 2 night stay. Good range of pastries, cheese and ham for breakfast. Limited free parking behind electric gates to the rear but plenty of free (not hotel) parking across the road. Convenient for Puy du Fou and happy for guests to return very late as the Cinescene finishes at midnight and traffic can be very slow leaving the park.LindaUnited Kingdom
