The hotel is ideally located close to the town. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was good although the scrambled egg was not hot.

We had an enforced stop because our car broke down.
We had an enforced stop because our car broke down. We ended up in the town for 10 days, staying first in a hotel and then an apartment in the city centre. We walked everywhere and saw all the sights offered at this time of the year. A weekend stay is not recommended as many restaurants and shops and places of interest are shut on Sunday and Monday. It is a lovely medieval town full of shops, restaurants and cafes. I recommend the Kitty cafe is you like cats. There are several chocolate shops and one chocolate factory. The museum Labenche is very good and the Mortlake Tapestries are exceptional. If you have a car there are a lot of places to visit nearby. In fine weather lots of walks near the city.

A great little city with lots to do and see.
A great little city with lots to do and see. We took a guided tour of the Denoix distillery which was excellent. A visit to the open market for duck and local produce is recommended. And dinner or lunch at the Gueuleton restaurant was just perfect if your a big meat lover!

I paid for an upgraded room which I did not get. The room I did get was dirty and not a pleasant smell. There is nothing favourite about this hotel - I did not like it and would not stay there again. Little choice in meals in the restaurant - no vegetarian option - and a flea on the table.
On my next visit I would avoid this hotel completely

Brive came over as an archetypal French Town that had its old town in the centre with great shops bars and restaurants. Very clean and very friendly. A day is all you would need to do everything but that was the charm

Charming town. Very few tourists.
Charming town. Very few tourists. Lots of nice restaurants and a wonderful Saturday market with fresh local foods. Very family oriented town; most things (except the churches & rugby) are closed Sunday. Museums don’t offer English translations. Try to catch a rugby match and root on the home team, CA Brive!

A fantastic Hotel in a great location. Central to everything and within easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. We parked the car just behind the hotel which was great.Room was very clean, light and had air con. Bathroom was very clean with a large shower. Bed was very comfortable and roomy. There is a market a couple of times a week just in front of the hotel.
The owners have gone to a lot of work to transform this fantastic ancient castle into very comfortable and modern - but not so modern that they lost the character - accommodation.
Our son will be visiting France next year with his family, and we have already recommended this hotel.
The owners gave us a GREAT recommendation for dinner - in fact, booked for us - and dinner was very reasonably priced.
Very conveniently located hotel, not far from main road, we were travelling back through France to Dieppe - staff very friendly and helpful, everything we needed for 1 night pit stop! There was a really nice grill restaurant nearby too and a big supermarket not far away - so we didn’t even need to nip into the main town we could just quickly get back on our way the next day
Giulia told me how to access the hotel since I asked if it was a problem to arrive late. The receptionist leaves at 23:00 so she gave me the code and told me my room number. She also called a taxi for me in the morning. Nice clean place, in good location. I was surprised that breakfast wasn’t included but otherwise it was great.
We could park in front of the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and a very simple check in process (not those that took dozen of minutes with someone talking to their computer rather than to you). The food (dinner and breakfast) was good. Despite been in an industrial area, it was a quiet environment.
A comfortable peaceful environment with everything you need provided. Excellent views of the beautiful town of Brive-la-Gaillarde. Isabelle the host was so helpful and kind and a lovely friendly person. If I'm ever back in this region of France, I won't hesitate to book here again. Loved it! 😊
Hotel very modern. Our bedroom had a sitting room area with beautiful views of the town and churches. Coffee machines in bedrooms added bonus for me. Staff smiled all the time. Relaxed in the courtyard with drinks so refreshing at the end of the day.
Overall very happy. Will stay again. Location suited us perfectly because of proximity to the autoroute however it's position in the middle of an industrial estate might not suit everyone. Despite this nice terrace for dinner and hotel quiet.
Rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. The staff are great and very customer friendly. For instance the hotel called me on the way there to ask if I wanted them to book a restaurant for that evening. Breakfast was also nice.
Lovely quirky hotel. Great decor and lovely rooms. Excellent breakfast and an easy few minutes walk into the centre. Only 2 parking spaces but plenty of road side parking opposite. Bed very comfortable.
staff very welcoming.. Quiet room at the back of the hotel. very clean. well located just across the train station and not far from the centre. it was our 4th visit over the last few years.
