The receptionists were two of the best ever encountered on our travels. They even provided vocabulary when requested e.g. Almohada. The barman offered help with pronunciation. Good breakfast too.

I loved the quirkiness of the place. The host was very interesting to talk with. I was so happy to see my first ever Ginko Biloba tree there.

I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino.
This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL.
Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

Wonderful Temple knights history, well described during castle visit. Impressive past and great attraction on Camino de Santiago for the thousands of Pilgrims now walking or cycling. An important part of old Spanish history.

We loved staying in the middle of the Old Town with the Castle just 5 minutes' walk away. People were friendly and there are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The drives into the nearby towns and mountains were fabulous. Perfect weather this time of year and not too many tourists. A great place to stop for the many Pilgrims on the Camino trail.
Nice clean comfortable hotel room with elevator. Checkin at the cafe across street. Friendly staff were very helpful and cafe was open early for good breakfast. We stayed here on Sunday so most of the businesses nearby were closed. But we found a nice restaurant La Mafia within short walk that was opened till 4 (then at 8) served good Italian dishes. Great friendly service. Treat yourselves to their signature drinks, pasta, pizza and grilled vegi dishes. Save some room for dessert of Hot Apple pie at McD for desert!!
The location was quite centrally located to the Camino as well as to the sites in Ponferrada. There were a variety of restaurants very close by. We had an excellent lunch at the first one on the right in the piazza (wish I remembered the name!). The apartment had everything we needed. the host included coffee, toiletries, clean linens, and a washing machine - all the appreciated comforts for a pilgrim!
top notch amenities, full kitchen, the most comfortable bed- bottle of wine and Waldo was personable and attentive to my needs. spectacular views from the terrace. Had a lift and wonderful electronic phone / key system to get you into the building without a key. I would 1000 times stay here again. Highly recommend- and free Netflix! spectacular née HOTEL. I loved it for my rest day on the Camino.
Great hotel right in the middle of the town but on a side street, so it was lovely and quiet. I had walked 25km on the camino that day and the receptionist was so lovely. I asked about laundry and she said to bring it down and my laundry was washed, dried and folded back at reception within 2 hours! Amazing service. If I were to come again I would definitely stay.
The apartment was easy to find. It’s located 1/2 block off the Camino and a 10 minute walk to the plazas and Castillo of Ponferrada. Great location. There is plenty of parking on the street if you have a car.
All amenities including a well equipped kitchen plus a washing machine. It was super clean. Our host was very welcoming.
Although the "medieval knights" theme was a bit over the top, the hotel provided everything we needed in the way of clean and comfortable beds for the night. Location near the railway station was good (we had an early train to catch in the morning), and it was an easy walk to the historic centre of Ponferrada.
Good reasonable budget hotel which we used on a recent visit to watch our team play the local club. On the outskirts but a reasonable walk to both the new and old parts of the town.
Modern basic hotel . Rooms clean and adequate with good buffet breakfast.
Staff really friendly and helpful.
We stayed two nights, a great place in the old town of Ponferrada, minutes away from the castle, museums, cafes and restaurants. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, a balcony overlooking the main square. Bathroom in decent size with good shower pressure.
It's a very good hotel. They are doing everything right, including a very good breakfast with artisan bread, butter at room temperature etc. Have a nice glass of wine (Bierzo Region) before going to your room. (The hotel is next to the Medieval castle: easy to find).
It's the only hotel in this forgotten town and it does the work. Despite the questionable reviews the place was clean, the staff accommodating amd the location is pretty central in the town (though not as central on the Camino route..).
We have now stayed at this hotel a couple of times. Great location and tremendous value for money. Staff friendly. Secure underground parking for our motorbikes. I'm sure we will be stay again.
Lovely hostel with AC in Ponferrada. Easy access back to the Camino. Staff very helpful. Arrived there during a heat wave and so appreciated the clean room and ability to cool down.
I need a place to stay. It was listed on bookings.com the price was good.
It was clean, and the hotel organized my key. I would have liked to try the restaurant and the terrace.
