Annabel and Mark are very friendly, avalaible and open to discuss. We felt like we were at home.
The place is charline, the view from the Lodge marvelous. You have a panoramic view on Turrialba and irazu volcanos.
The lodge is simply confortable, the dinner very good served in a common room. The breakfast is continental, according to travelers choice whose doesn't want to eat rice one more Time!
To resume, it was a really great stay, the place and people who carry about it being amazing.
I recommend it eyes closed!

Very nice wooden building with 'mountain lodge' flair. Spacious room with 2 double beds (four poster beds with moscito curtains). Lovely flower decoration in the room and bathroom. Nice bathroom with open window (no glass). Strong hot shower and nice towels.

A lovely, quiet property great for relaxing. There were bikes available to borrow to get around the property. The rooms were nice and clean. The building is beautiful. We did a horse back riding tour from the property which was great - would recommend

We did a tour to the cheesemaking farm Herencia, high up on the slope of the volcano. Getting there via Google maps was a bit tedious but on the way back we got better directions - via Santa Cruz and Torito. The tour is a great experience! On the way back we visited the national monument at Guayabo. We also tried to reach the Aquiares waterfall, but this is a bit difficult to find and we did not get there in time, had to turn back. The last stretch is climbing over big boulders along the riverbed.Stegeman

If you go with the mindset of adventure, disconnection from internet, camping style you will have a blast. This is a team of guys that do everything for you. They drive you , they cook , by the way excellent typical food, they are your rafting and adventures guides , the photographer, they eat with you and tell you stories and history of the place , the fauna , and flora etc, The experience is amazing ! The hotel itself is also nice, rooms are big, the staff is super friendly. Anyhow the place gives the impression that it has seen better times which is a pity because of its beauty. A little bit of refurbishment would do very well. Especially when you consider that it is at the upper price end for accommodation in Costa Rica. Restaurants, rafting, even trying to get my cracked cell phone screen fixed. If you are considering coming to Turrialba, it is a very nice town and you would be well served to give Casa de Lis your business. Also, travel the Pacuare with Ticos River Adventures. Roberto runs a business that takes service safety and fun to a 200% level. Cannot recommend it enough.

The River Tuis runs next to the cabins with a beautiful cascade. It was great swimming here as you could swim against the current. When you were tired the cascade gave you a tremendous back massage. The campfires in the evening were great. The meals were also really good, as we were the only visitors the first 3 nights it was like having our own chef to cater for us. The hygiene in the kitchen was top.

The staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was excellent! Our kids loved riding horses and relaxing in the hacienda with a good book. The grounds were stunning and we had a direct view of the volcano. The farm is so close to many activities and adventures, we can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!!

We had a really good time, did some hiking, bird watching, waterfalls... would love to come back.
