Stanley is a unique location with a rich history. Staying at the Ship Inn helped us to appreciate this location and its history. Excellent eating places within easy walking distance - Stanley Hotel provided a very enjoyable meal; Hurseys is a must visit with great seafood dishes, with an array of other options. Stanley is very easy to get around both on foot and by car. Only one bowser for petrol provided a challenge, but is easily managed. A great place to visit.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around.
Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

Herseys seafood was a big disappointment.. have abeBen traveling to Stanley for many years and up until this trip enjoyed the experience at restaurant... apparently new chef would not recommend you waste your money...we went to stanley hotel and had an excellent meal would recommend the hotel
This property is stunning, if you like to be a little out of the way without being too far, and in beautiful natural surrounds, you can't go past The Inlet Stanley. Erin and her team have done an exceptional job creating such a gorgeous accommodation environment. Tucked off the main road heading into Stanley this private stay is gorgeous, the cabins are exactly as pictured, well cared for and the stunning views are uninterrupted. We really enjoyed a luxury relaxing stay, you can't do anything else but love it. Thanks Erin and team .
A decent sized apartment with comfortable furnishings. Nicely located for walking into town and up the 'Nut'. We only stayed for one night on our travels around Tasmania but the apartment seemed to have everything that we needed. Stanley itself is a quirky little town with some nice local artisan shops, and you have to try the adjacent 'Angels Share' if you're interested in trying Tasmania craft whisky's and gins, an impressive selection on offer and a knowledgeable owner.
The town of Stanley is quaint and lovely. The apartment was sparkling clean. The views were amazing. There are several decks and sliding glass doors to look out over the sea. Everything is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the sea to look for the penguins at night and see the wallabies on the streets after sunset. The hotel was enjoyable to sit and have a drink and converse with the people in the town.
loved everything about the Inlet, the lovely ocean views were stunning! the decor was just beautiful & the lovely touches of cheeseboard & wine were delicious and a lovely surprise! felt like we were away from it all yet close to Stanley to see the fun sights
cannot wait to return again , but for longer next time
thanks for your lovely hospitality
Fantastic location in the Main Street, close to everything. lovely old building with modern facilities. Lovely place to stay to end our trip around Tasmania, quite quirky with a lovely garden out the back. Travelling in a group 6 adults plenty of room, with lovely comfortable beds.
It’s even better than a 5-star hotel. It’s very clean, well decorated and comfortable. I will stay here for more days if my schedule allows. The best place to stay in Stanley!! You can upgrade for full breakfast which is super nice and delicious!
Quaint country styled room. Lovely area to wander about in. On a warm day it would be pleasant to sit outside & watch the birds.. Owners were very helpful. It is a short distance to Stanley for a meal & needed to do the same for breakfast.
I loved absolutely everything about this accommodation from cleanliness, facilities and decor. The owner was very helpful with what to do in the area. This accommodation was the best accommodation during our stay in Tasmania.

Fantastic view from verandah of The Nut. Room was comfortable - bed was good. Location: Stanley was possibly the highlight of our tour around Tasmania so I would have to highly recommend this accommodation for the view.
Luxury apartment with stunning views of the ocean and plateau.
Great breakfast supplies included, large kichen and lounge room, king sized bed. Washing machine and dryer. Loved our stay, would highly recommend it.
Great location, easy to walk to everything in Stanley. Restaurant was excellent, easy to book and great quality food plus local drink options. Room was clean, comfortable and had enough space for 2 people.
Gardenia House is a gorgeous gem of a Victorian villa with lots of original features. It has beautiful views to the beach and is located in an excellent part of Stanley close to the beach and restaurants.
A beautiful place to stay looking out at the ocean. An easy walk to the Stanley hotel for a lovely meal. Highly recommend the Stanley waterfront accommodation.
Very private self contained and beautifully situated to make the most of the incredible views. Easy access to the beach and a few minutes away from Stanley.
