The route RN68 is a must do, even more beautiful every bend in the road. I recommend having lunch on the terrasse of the Bodega Amalaya & Wine Bar, the view is just amazing and the service/food/wines are great.

We enjoyed the visit to Piatelli vineyard, a long way there. The place is beautiful, the visit excellent with their bilingual guide. It is rather expensive in my opinion for what it is, and if stopping for a meal afterwards that was gorgeous, but very expensive. CAFAYATE Town is lovely and very safe, plenty of restaurants, best empanadas at The Hornitas, recommended by a local person.

Staying at the bodega hotel (In my case, el Porvenir) is highly recommended! Also, you can enjoy great lunch or dinner at lots of bodegas (El esteco, Piattelli, etc.) Please stay at least one night there and enjoy each bodega's unique wines. Stunning town, we absolutely loved it here. We walked everywhere, i highly recommend eating at the bodegas. Our favorite bodegas were Piatelli and Nanni, Esteco was nice too but a bit too pricey. The scenery is something I would come back for alone. Piatelli had amazing food and so did bodega Nanni. El Ranco is good for dinner too and it’s on the main square.CiaraIreland - 10Scored 10

Small but cute town with lots of restaurants and shops for tourists. Many wineries are within the city and all is at walking distance. The further wineries are only 4 min drives from town. Very clean and with plenty of options for all budgets. Ideal for wine and food lovers.BAFlorArgentina

Would definitely come back. My wife's birthday was during our stay. In the morning we were treated to a cake. At our request, the hotel made some bookings and quietly communicated that it was my wife's birthday :-) On the day we left, we also received two lunch boxes as an extra birthday present for during the car ride. The staff are so helpful and humane. Unimaginable! Book book book!

Also, my spouse worked in the hotel industry we know how mistakes work but best thing is to own up to it, not claim that it's impossible... So that we didn't love. Everything else was ok.
